I played in a cover band in college and we managed a huge range of styles, but Rosanna was the song that defeated us. Toto’s musicianship is impeccable, and their compositions require extraordinary talent to pull off.

Cladonia diversa is very variable, with some podetia bearing swollen bright red fruiting bodies, and others just tiny red studs on the cup rim. Heaths and dunes.

Wall Brown used to occur in Tunbridge Wells & the surrounding area, but I've not seen one since the start of the new millennium
Another post dreaming of the warmer weather to come!
The Wall Brown (Lasiommata megera) butterfly, now sadly extinct in many regions of the UK, I photographed this one in #Gredos, Spain where they're still plentiful.

It will be another 4–6 weeks before the crocus season gets underway, I think, but as you know, I'm all for anticipation and temptation. The following pics were all attempts at naturalising in short turf, flanking a path to an orchard. The aim of this was to cause trembling with joy 💚🌱

Just a reminder, the greatest living American historian filmmaker, Ken Burns, released a 720 min exploration of every facet of the American revolution using zero generative AI and paying for all of its assets instead of cobbling it from stolen data, then he gave it away for free on PBS this year.
First trailer for Darren Aranofsky's new AI animated series 'On This Day... 1776'

• Tells short narrative stories about the Revolutionary War

• Uses Gen AI tools, including tech made by Google DeepMind

• Has SAG voice actors

The PCR positivity map is out, and UKHSA are reporting a rise to 2.2% nationally in England.

Adjusted for non-reporting we make that 2.88%.

Scotland's seen a larger rise from 2.16 to 2.8%.

I should have said Iridaceae, instead of restricting myself to Iris. I think this is Crocus 'Blue Pearl', a Chrysanthus hybrid. Another of my crevice plantings. Note the width of the crevices, designed to accommodate small jewels. The builder had conniptions at first, but was highly skilled 💚🌱

Another unlabelled Iris reticulata cultivar. These clear and vibrant colours recommend them for cheering up these cold spring mornings, promising of sunnier, warmer times. They were planted in the paving crevices of a sunny terrace. 💚🌱

if you were to ask me to name my favourite genus, it would be Iris – and at multiple points in the year. just now, it would be the bulbous Reticulata types, like these. I don't think this is 'Harmony', but it's something very close to it. I've found a folder full of them, all unlabelled.💚🌱
