As someone who works in the tech industry--absolutely.

They are testing the waters. These are top-down orders. The ONLY way to stop it is a visceral negative reaction. Write articles. Post your rage. Email. Post. @. All those things.

Only you have the power to kill it.
Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

Gonna share a hot take here bc the wrong people on twitter will find it.

It’s crazy to me how many streamers (and noticeably vtubers I feel) are quiet on human rights issues and say they mean no harm but continue to allow and support Pepe emotes which is a white supremacist dog whistle 🙃

Cruelty by design. This administration wants chaos. They want us demoralized and defeated. They want us tired and exhausted. They want us afraid as they do, what I believe is, calculated targeting. “What situation will cause the most outrage?” But they also want us angry enough to use as an excuse…
I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

WTF:

They are disappearing humans, lying to the public, demolishing the people’s house, courting dictators, blowing up boats and protecting pedophiles.

Donald Trump is corrupt. Everyone in his freak show of an administration is corrupt and yet these congressional Republicans look the other way.

Someone needs to say it. Trump 2028 isn’t happening.

We know the presidency ages you, and we’re witnessing his rapid decline. His approval is buried in the 30s, and his stamina is gone. He won’t be able to vigorously campaign.

He can pretend 2028 is inevitable, but everyone can see the truth.

The discovery of 68 boxes of undisclosed 9/11 toxin records is outrageous and heartbreaking for the FDNY families who’ve already lost 400 heroes from exposure to Ground Zero toxins.

I stand with FDNY members demanding clarity and accountability. The 9/11 community has waited long enough.
NYC long claimed it had no info on the 9/11 toxins at Ground Zero. Now they have 68 boxes worth.
The materials, ironically, included a directive from the city Law Department written two decades ago ordering the agency to save and preserve any information about the terror attacks and its afterm…

"If the U.S. military operation is not an armed conflict of any kind, these orders to kill helpless civilians clinging to the wreckage of a vessel our military destroyed would subject everyone from SECDEF down to the individual who pulled the trigger to prosecution under U.S. law for murder."
Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder.

Either way, expect prosecutions in the future.

Visa and Mastercard are censoring video games, Google and Apple are censoring apps, universities are censoring lectures and protests, social media promotes hate speech -- and this is just what we know about.
After pressure from the Justice Department, Apple pulled apps from its App Store that encourage reporting ICE activity. Google followed suit by pulling similar apps from its Play Store.

The government shouldn't be choosing what apps we can download, and neither should tech companies.
