For those of you in the UK, especially if you are a UK citizen, can you please take part in the consultation on changes to Indefinite Leave to Remain (Settlement) that were just proposed by the UK government. We need as many people as possible to reject these proposals. www.gov.uk/government/c...

Who among the public is demanding this? Who does it appeal to? I even think the people who shout at hotels haven't asked for this. Immoral.
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

Food prices are out of control.

From free school meals to a Windfall Tax on profiteering companies, we need an urgent debate on Government action to bring prices down and to support families.

Food price caps were seriously discussed a few years ago – and must be again now.

New figures from Shelter show that the number of children homeless or in temporary accommodation in England has reached its highest level since records began.

172,420 kids without a permanent home of their own- an 8% increase in a single year.

I guess this simply confirms that my Rebellion! project, exploring and celebrating the importance of peaceful protest as part of our cultural identity, in the face of draconian anti-protest legislation, has never been more timely.
She was arrested for holding a sign reading:

“I do not support the proscription of Palestine Action”

How that would warrant arrest is very unclear. I wonder if the police here even understand the boundaries of the bizarre law they’ve been forced to enforce.

Deeply, deeply saddening to see people at the Manchester vigil just saying quite bluntly that they feel marches against genocide in Gaza are, in fact, directed against all Jewish people.

This is exactly what both terrorists and genociders want.

A fascist minority are increasingly emboldened to act as representative of broader public opinion, because they are treated as such not just by right-wing parties and outlets, but by broadcast media, and the govt, who often give the impression of agreeing with them or partly enacting their agenda.

I’ve documented protests for decades. The asylum hotel protests I’ve photographed have all been very small. When I first turned up at the Newcastle protest, and asked the police where the protesters were, they pointed to one man and said he’s over there.

Difficult to conceive of a more ill-judged decision then the one the Home Office took here. It is an affront to free speech of a kind which is really indistinguishable from what you'd see in a police state.

That means:
▪️ A ban on trade with Israeli settlements
▪️ Sanctions on Israel’s economy
▪️ A full arms embargo
