Law enforcement officers should never cover their faces when making arrests or conceal their identities (unless they are working undercover). They work for us. We have a right to know who they are. These face coverings are frightening & unAmerican, as though they're ashamed of what they're doing.

Please read this from @jenrubin.bsky.social. Every sentence is catharsis.

THIS is why the Tapper book feels obscene. Because it has to be squared with the media’s “cover-up” of Trump’s lunacy.
And only one of these threatens our democracy.

Rahm Emanuel better figure out how to win w/out the Black vote if he’s going to keep using the word “woke” as a weapon against Dems.

That goes for any candidate parroting GOP lines & taking cues from Ron DeSantis. “Woke” is a word rooted in the Black community—it’s not yours to twist into a slur.

Paul Weiss has become a symbol for the disgrace of capitulation to Trump. The once proud firm has been ridiculed by Trump, criticized by judges, and has started losing partners.

Now the right-wing is looking to cash the check it wrote to pay off Trump. It may complain, but it will cave.

I cannot stress enough how much of a Def Con 1 moment this is. Federal judges fear that the President of the United States will stand down security for judges in retaliation for adverse decisions.

This is such a huge story.
This should be seen as evidence of the crisis: federal judges fear that Trump will order U.S. Marshals to stand down on securing the safety of judges whose decision they don’t like. This is just devastating.

We make jokes about this sometimes because it’s laughable. But when journalists try to make sense of the nonsensical, rational out of the irrational, and coherence out of the incoherence, they affirmatively do the public interest great harm.

I never bought Booker as a POTUS nominee.

Has the wrong energy. Extremely performative. All that grandstanding and then does votes like this.

Where was the filibustering when a critical vote was in the balance?

I, for one, am sick of Dem Senators telling us there is nothing they can do to
Just a few weeks ago people were pitching Cory Booker as a front runner for the 2028 Dem presidential nomination.

Tonight he was the only Senate Dem to vote to confirm Jared Kushner’s convict dad as ambassador to France.

Sheesh.
