"The deadliest facilities — like the infamous Sde Teiman detention center & Ketziot Prison — have been operating with near-total impunity. Some detainees were beaten so badly their ribs snapped. Others died from untreated diabetes, cancer, or starvation."

The Israeli regime must be held to account.
New data reveals 98 Palestinian deaths in Israeli custody since Oct. 7

Post-mortems & testimonies suggest many died from torture, medical neglect & food deprivation. According to leaked Israeli intelligence database, dozens were civilians.

This is why for a long time I've found the Prime Minister's Prizes for Science a rather insulting propaganda exercise

www.abc.net.au/news/science...

CSIRO funding as a percentage of GDP:

1982-83 = 0.17

2024-25 = 0.03

...

Scientific extinction event imminent?
The CSIRO cuts are just the tip of the iceberg for Australia's science funding
Australia is known as a country of innovators, but with a combination of brain drain, continuous cuts, and a loss of critical science projects, is Australia losing its edge?

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

Elon Musk’s new pay package could amount to $100B per year.

That's the same as 3.2 million cashiers’ paychecks combined.

It’s more than 1.4 million elementary school teachers’ paychecks.

It’s more than 2 million janitors’ paychecks.

Billionaire greed is out of control.

I mean, look, I'm not a reporter, so who am I to talk?

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

So lemme get this straight. You are eliminating the tariffs on tropical fruits, coffee and beef to lower prices since you took the mantel of the "affordability" President today.
I'm a little confused, though. If tariffs weren't paid for by me, then how is eliminating them saving me money? Ill wait.

I don’t believe that money should be in campaigns at all. Since the age of social media, there’s a lot that can be done using g those tools. As for commercial adds…every station should be required by law ( yet to written) to GIVE equal time to all candidates, let’s say 5 free 1 minute free air time
