This video will inspire you and break your heart and remind you why we humans have a chance - this is famous Ukrainian ‘Schedryk’ - you might know it as Carol of the Bells - performed live at one of DTEK thermal power situations ruined by Russian attacks

P.s. it will make you cry.

I tell Trump my peace terms, Trump tells Witkoff what they are and then Witkoff tells me Trump's terms that I told him then I say they aren't enough so we both blame Ukraine for me not accepting my own terms and I keep attacking them.

Rinse. Repeat.

Amongst other things, I used to teach artillery safety procedures at our School of Artillery (a long time ago now) and commanded a couple of artillery batteries.

This is not what you would call a good day at the office or “just a routine cost of doing business” for an artillery unit .
An artillery shell fired during 250th anniversary celebration of the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton on Saturday detonated prematurely over Interstate 5, damaging a California Highway Patrol vehicle on JD Vance's security detail www.nytimes.com/2025/10/19/u...

ATSE & Fortescue have joined the OECD in calling for an end to Australia's biggest fossil fuel subsidy, the Fuel Tax Credit Scheme.

The FTCS costs over $10 bn/yr, discourages transition to cleaner fuels & overwhelmingly benefits the mining industry.

Australia has an opportunity to get out of AUKUS. We should take it.

We ask the Albanese Government to prioritise Australia's interests and security, and to join the UK and the US Governments in undertaking an independent parliamentary inquiry into AUKUS.

Last year, Japan resold at least $11bn worth of Australian gas.

Japan onsells more Australian gas than eastern Australia uses, and more than our forecast domestic gas shortages.

We don’t need new gas projects. We just need to use our own gas better.

I think the Nobel Peace Prize committee should make something very clear to Donald Trump. He should be told that there will be no peace prize for him if he imposes an unjust and unstable peace on Ukraine.

Am I just being too fussy that I don't want to vote for him? Am I just a damaged personality type that can't join a collective?

When I negotiated to set up the Comcare Review, I knew there was something wrong with the laws + Comcare.

But reading the submissions to the Review is disturbing - this is a system that grinds people down.

The outcomes of the Review should help us to overhaul this terrible system.

In #Budget25, Beer excise is a bigger revenue raiser than the PRRT, one of our main taxes on the gas industry.

Failing to fix the broken Petroleum Resource Rent Tax was a missed opportunity. Our research shows big gas continues to be a systemic non-payer of tax, while Australians miss out. #auspol
