I am sitting in a deckchair, in a strip of shade that is c. 75cm wide and getting narrower by the minute. Soon, I will have to go back into the 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦, which was built in 1876, and is not designed for a climate in which it can be >30°C for several days in a row.

It's mapo tofu night in the La Cervelle household. The weather was so good when I finished work that I prioritised sitting in a deckchair over ensuring that I had the correct ingredients. Apologies to the pockmarked old lady for disrespecting her legacy in this way.

Capybaras are lawless animals with little regard for human property rights. They have been known to cause damage and disruption to golf courses and luxury gated communities. Don't let the Peruvian police turn you against them.

I liked the bit when Isabelle Adjani trapped Bruno Ganz in a corner by sprinkling broken communion wafers (which she just happened to have in her sideboard) around him.
