Mediocre polyglot. Maps liker. He/him.
I have forgiven Robin Ince for repeatedly calling 'Hundreds of Beavers' 'One Hundred Beavers' when he introduced it in Bristol in February.

A nice man once let me leave my bike in his garden in Nempnett Thrubwell while I walked up the hill to look for the Fairy Toot long barrow.

Israel's genocidal war on Gaza - two years of hell on earth for Palestinians - could have ended at any time with pressure from the US president. There is no safe and peaceful future without justice, without accountability, without freedom for Palestinians

I have been instructed to find a film for tonight in which nobody's husband dies.

On North Street it started raining out of nowhere and a guy who looked like Abbie Hoffman (right down to the wraparound shades) walked by.

Some lads, who have evidently never seen Jarvis Cocker, shouted "Jarvis Cocker!" at me this evening.

I am sitting in a deckchair, in a strip of shade that is c. 75cm wide and getting narrower by the minute. Soon, I will have to go back into the 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦, which was built in 1876, and is not designed for a climate in which it can be >30°C for several days in a row.

Thread of pubs that I know to have cut ties with @drinkmoorbeer.bsky.social since this started yesterday. I'll gradually update as I find out more. Let me know if you hear of anywhere.

Hey @drinkmoorbeer.bsky.social hope you enjoy every single pro-Palestine activist and left wing pub in Bristol seeing this lol.
An object lesson in how not to engage whilst displaying company branding.

Bravo @drinkmoorbeer.bsky.social

Dream: I am in HMV examining a CD reissue of the early metal album Lusts of the Three-Foot Goat. There has been a production error: the back cover is from an album by Prince!

I don't usually get involved in this kind of thing, but it's hard to pass up on Pink Patatas Aliñadas.

It's mapo tofu night in the La Cervelle household. The weather was so good when I finished work that I prioritised sitting in a deckchair over ensuring that I had the correct ingredients. Apologies to the pockmarked old lady for disrespecting her legacy in this way.

Capybaras are lawless animals with little regard for human property rights. They have been known to cause damage and disruption to golf courses and luxury gated communities. Don't let the Peruvian police turn you against them.

One of the good things about where I live is that I can easily visit the site of historic breakthroughs in the development of Ribena and Babycham.

I went to the eastern Algarve in January. This will be a thread of the most impersonal pictures I took with my phone camera. This one shows what you see if you look up from platform 1 of the train station at Olhão.

Everything else overshadowed by Je Tu Il Elle: damn!

The Wandering Soap Opera invigorates a previously weak connection I made between Raúl Ruiz and Guy Maddin.

Very uncertain about Divinity: The Substance/Revenge, but with dudes = ???. Maybe not in a good way?

I liked the bit when Isabelle Adjani trapped Bruno Ganz in a corner by sprinkling broken communion wafers (which she just happened to have in her sideboard) around him.
2023 was The Year I Spent Too Much Time With The Wicker Man. January 2025 is going to be The Month Where I Spend Too Much Time With Nosferatu.
