Most people aren't ready for a world where peer conflict is openly back on the table. There isn't much room in that world for individual prosperity. Even in absence of actual conflict, the competition alone is going to eat resources, wealth and time on a scale I don't think most people understand.
There is no amount of 'Being Right on the Internet' that is worth that future. There is no amount of domestic political clarity that is worth that future.
