As an aunt, I’m in charge of loud and obnoxious gifts…and taking them to Europe once they’re 18. I love my “job”.
I like being an uncle for the holidays because: Mom and dad are responsible, and will discipline you. Grandpa and Grandma are indulgent, and will coddle you. But the uncle... the uncle is unpredictable. The niece and nephew cannot know what the uncle will do, because the soul of the uncle is CHAOS

Well, I’ve been told smiling more would help 🙄

Confession: it has never helped. I find that my active b**ch face is actually a very effective tool.

Does anyone else doomscroll in bed and keep accidentally triggering the “feature” that takes you all the way back to the top of your timeline? It’s not annoying at all. Why can’t my thumbs work properly at 3 am when I can’t sleep and the pitbull is kicking me?

Agree! This sounds like shopping in Stepford.
If you tell me there's a place where strangers are required to speak to me if I breach their four-foot perimeter I will simply not go to that place.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

This is the obit of Watson I needed. A man who refuses to consider data isn’t a good scientist. He produced ground breaking science. He didn’t practice good science. Both his hate and anti-data views have no place in our field. Ego like this inhibits true science.

Setting aside politics (bc that’s more boring)…yellow is the only acceptable answer. I get UK Basketball, Cards Baseball, North Carolina barbecue and breweries….and I get the Portland frogs (ok, a tiny bit of politics).
New electoral college just dropped - do we win this one?

100% I can’t even rely on know-it-all forum posters to stay current anymore 🤦‍♀️
It's cool how when you try to search for the solution to a computer problem now you can pick from an AI summary, several out-of-date videos by a guy with a shitty mic, or some forum posts on the publisher's site dealing with an obsolete version of the software

Viewpoint: The One Big Beautiful Bill Act's federal loan caps may exacerbate socioeconomic disparities in #MedEd, worsening the Matthew Effect and hindering diversity and equity within the physician workforce.

100% the same. I had no idea that tiny choice would protect me!
I didn’t change my name when I got married for some very practical reasons but I never thought “so I can keep voting” would be among them
It's not complicated. They're just trying to stop women from being able to vote.

It’s me…I’m the one who needs to hear it.

Alas, I will still ignore it, and then be frustrated tomorrow when I don’t have clean socks.
not sure who needs to hear this but it’s probably a good idea to get some laundry started

This is so true!
i'll fess up: for the last like fifteen years i despised Jesse Eisenberg on reflex. anytime he came up in a movie I'd say, nah, not for me, fuck that guy.

turns out i just hated Mark Zuckerberg so much my hate boomeranged around to Jesse. kinda a compliment to his acting when you think about it

I was beginning to think, man I have read so much about the Oval Office embarrassment…did anything else happen in the world this week?

Full disclosure: a series of train robberies is not where thought that was going 😂

Train heists aren't just a thing of the Old West. A series of brazen train robberies has emerged across the western United States and authorities say the thieves focus on high-value containers.

1. Today the NIH director issued a new directive slashing overhead rates to 15%.

I want to provide some context on what that means and why it matters.
