From the DM’s…

As ER docs are calling for a state of emergency to be declared…

The dis-integration of Alberta’s healthcare to multiple “pillars” means there’s noone to steer the healthcare system as a whole to initiate that state of emergency.

i think it is ok to reiterate that the victim as a us citizen. yes, noncitizens are equally entitled to human rights. but also, it's important to illustrate how ice isn't about immigration at all

I’m so glad that the Conservatives lost the election so we didn’t have to worry about a federal government that would repeal the carbon tax and try to ram through new pipelines and pass BS border security laws and let Alberta skirt the Canada Health Act and…oh.

Anyone blaming Canada for not getting an agreement with this lunatic should shut it
Trump is pissed about an ad that Canada recently ran in the U.S. showing Ronald Reagan talking about tariffs in 1987.

“Based on their egregious behavior, ALL TRADE NEGOTIATIONS WITH CANADA ARE HEREBY TERMINATED.”

The assassination of Charlie Kirk makes we worry we can no longer have peaceful discussions of whether gays should be stoned to death or civil and collegial debates about whether black people are inherently inferior. Our culture will suffer.

to my mind the woman who dies of sepsis because of antiabortion laws, or the person who dies because they can't afford insulin -- these are just as much victims of political violence as the man shot through the throat while making a racist speech

RIP Charlie Kirk, you would have loved politicizing the shooting of Charlie Kirk.
on a serious note it's incredible how little they cared about the guy. he wasn't even confirmed as dead, never mind his body cold, before they started pushing "lefist" and "trans" "terrorism" narratives. they saw the blood gush out of his neck and thought "this is an excellent opportunity."
just so you know, twitter losers are trawling through bluesky and doing their usual thing of complaining about people who are telling jokes. comedy is legal now, losers. deal with it.

No matter how horrifying MAGA appears, no matter how morally bereft, how hideously nihilistic, how pervertedly cruel, how shockingly stupid, how pitifully crass, there is one ironclad rule that has always applied to Trump in every respect: it is somehow always even worse than it seems.

When Carney was elected it was clear so many areas that required major investment, in the name of national protection and nation building: military, housing (public housing specifically), tariff supports, infrastructure (towards econonmic diversification), health care, but hugely, *education*
Liberals to Canola industry (total export value: $7.7 billion): take $370 million, please!

Liberals to Post-Secondary Education (total export value $11B from tuition, more if you count foreign student spending in Canada): drop dead.

What kind of economy are we building, again?

Hi. I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating: we have to be able to criticize Mark Carney without living in fear that doing so will help Poilievre or weaken Canada. He is our Prime Minister. Out of anyone, he deserves to be watched and critiqued. We should all be dying on this hill.

It's 2025. How many more examples do we need to show people that austerity policies are ... bad? And that mutual aid at scale is called taxation? That we pay the government so that they can pool our money and invest in infrastructure?
