That’s one of the most significant @buffalo-bills.bsky.social wins in a long time. That game exorcised a lot of demons. We overcame a bunch of things that usually are permanent de-railers. Go Bills!!! 🦬

Winning hasn't come easy for the Detroit Tigers over the past month, but when it matters, they've found a way, most recently in the wild-card series.

OBAMA: It's fair to say that 80% of the world's problems involve old men hanging on who are afraid of death and insignificance, and they won't let go. They build pyramids, and they put their names on everything. They get very anxious about it.

With a lot of gratitude to NHC for the safe space to incubate this lecture, CITAP for supporting my Fellowship application, and the Thomas Wolfe Prize committee and UNC English & Creative Writing Department for the honor.
Congratulations to Tressie McMillan Cottom (NHC Fellow, 2025–26), recipient of the 2025 Thomas Wolfe Prize.

As this year’s recipient, Cottom will deliver the annual Thomas Wolfe Lecture on September 30 at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Today is Constitution Day and Citizenship Day recognizing the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is normally observed today because it is the day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the it in Philadelphia.

Good morning! It’s important to acknowledge our inevitable pain, not deny nor suppress it, & do something healthy with it, such as channeling it outwards, put it somewhere else. Channeling pain constructively, along with anger, helps us to leverage them to overcome obstacles.

Huge news out of IRS today.

If you acquire an EV by September 30 - a written binding contract and make a payment (i.e., down payment or a trade-in) - you can take delivery *through the end of 2026.*

45W and 30D will keep on giving into next year.

I’m a longtime @shannonmattern.bsky.social fan. I assign her work not only for its specific insights but also as a model of open attention and care to inhale.

That’s here, too. Along with the heartbreak of how universities break people who do this work so well.

As a follow-up to _Calling Bullshit_, Jevin West and I developed the course about LLMs that we think every college freshman should take.

Yesterday I talked about the course in a seminar at UNSW. And thanks to my colleagues there, 24 hours later the video is already online.
Yesterday, @carlbergstrom.com presented his course "Modern-day Oracles or BS Machines? How to thrive in a ChatGPT world". Neat way to make students aware of the capacities and limitations of LLMs👇🎰
