Development vs climate action is a false choice.

In the agriculture sector, there are many actions that reduce climate pollution AND help farmers adapt to a changing climate.

An underappreciated one is helping smallholders sustainably boost productivity, reducing ag land expansion & deforestation.

🌱 Open PhD Position in Plant EvoDevo 🌱 Thinking about a PhD in plant evodevo? The Becker Research Group (JLU Giessen, Germany) has a fully funded 4-year PhD position in the ICIPS II research unit! 🎓 📍 Where? Gießen, Germany – great research environment & vibrant plant science network.

We visited Sculptures by the Sea today from Bondi to Tamarama 🌊🏖️ - nice way to recover from all that writing.

Thanks for taking the time to catch up on a weekend and for the lovely hang out.

We are now in the non-coding #RNA session at #ARNASydney2025. We heard a fascinating story on other functions of the TERRA #lncRNA, which binds ATRX and gene promoters. It also is more abundant in the aging brain. A great talk by Hsueh-Ping Chu from the National Taiwan University.

We had a set of amazing talks in the #RNA in immunity session at #ARNASydney2025. Presentations by Stacey Horner, @drnatsampaio.bsky.social, Elizabeth Chan and Kitty McCaffrey. From viral infections to bacterial toxins, a really great session.
