I saw that Philly is suing and fine.

But I think Philly should republish the full exhibit as a hard copy special issue zine/pamphlet and put them in every school in the city and every public library.

Philly should create a special curriculum unit and pick a week to do a citywide teach in.

we all got cowed into avoiding "virtue signaling" as if the public affirmation of socially agreed upon ethical principles was somehow cringey instead of a significant part of what a "society" even is. now all there's left is vice signaling, and it's reshaping society.

So if AI succeeds loads of people lose their jobs as they're replaced by AI, and if AI fails, loads of people lose their jobs as the economy crashes?

This is just theater for MAGA. If Trump REALLY wanted the Epstein Files released, he doesn't need Congress. He could just call Pam Bondi and order her to release them. He hasn't. And won't. He and Pam have cooked up a new "ongoing investigation" that she can use as an excuse not to release evidence.

1. Placing these two graphs side by side shows why we have a prisons crisis. They can also be seen as a kind of Authoritarianism Index, showing the trend in state attitudes.
On the left is the Crime Survey for England and Wales.
On the right is the UK prison population.

I'm going to have people explaining to me that Trump is intellectually compromised all day, I see.

I'm gonna use some ableist language because I can tell I need to be blunt.

STUPID AND EVIL ARE NOT SYNONYMS.

Yes, he's shorting out. NOW. But he's been evil forever.

amazing how the Silicon Valley sales pitch suddenly became “we’re bringing about a bright future where everyone but the ultra-rich will be forced to return to the fields”

and they genuinely don’t seem to believe this could eventually end poorly for them
My ancestors worked in factories so my parents could go to law school.
“Humans can just go get manual labor jobs if desk jobs are repaired with AI” is both not going to suffice to provide enough jobs and is also going to result in massive societal anger because manual labor jobs often *are terrible*, which is why people have worked hard to avoid them for generations.

Many highly-paid AI boosters with rewarding jobs simply can’t seem to imagine how THEY might feel if THEY were forced out of their job and into low-paying, low-status manual labor.

But this is what happens when we let the powerful identify others as “NPCs” and don’t drive them away with pitchforks
I mean, sex work is probably safe for the time being but if I had to say, go to an in-office job from a remote one, or a "manual labor" one instead of "email one" because of AI, I would dedicate my entire life to total AI genocide even with full knowledge AI are sentient people.
