Also most voters have just never thought remotely seriously about policy. “Should we get rid of illegal immigrants? Well, of course; they’re illegal!” There’s nothing deeper than that going on until they start seeing what that actually entails.
Some Dems and pundits overread the significance of Trump's win. They looked at dissatisfaction with the border and discerned a seismic cultural reaction to immigration levels inside the country. The former was real. The latter is a mirage.

I understand that there are multiple right answers. Problem is (as noted later in the thread) that teachers still expect ONE right answer, and get mad when you don't give it to them.
My first year of law school, i watch a lot of my fellow students struggle with the idea that there wasn't necessarily one right answer to any question. Some answers may have been better than others in some ways. Working with ambiguity is hard for a good number of people.

Republicans can force its members to suppress the Epstein files, while Democrats can't stand together to protect health care subsidies. I'm almost impressed.

I like the democratic socialists, like Mamdani, because I know they're essentially social democrats in the European tradition. (I was a DSA member in the 80s.)
I don't know how successful he'll be -- I'm skeptical of his rent control program -- but I don't see anything to be *afraid* of.
