I have never turned on Apple Intelligence on my MacBook (don't plan to), so I don't see things like this. But it seems like Apple should provide a way for developers to exclude such "features" if they don't want them.
a) this fucking sucks, wtf Apple?

b) anybody got the link avail, the one about how to remove this?
Not satisfied with just destroying their own brand goodwill, OS companies are now using AI to try to destroy the good names of the apps users install. (Scrivener taking out adds to explain how it has no AI but Apple adds some anyway.)

We LOVE our induction stove. It’s insane how fast water comes to a boil, and cooking can be precise and consistent. And, as David notes in a reply, it’s ridiculously easy to keep clean!
Induction stoves are quieter, cooler, and produce less toxic pollution than gas. On the other hand, they also cook better, as a growing number of professional chefs recognize.

From Michelin kitchens to home wok burners, induction delivers consistency that gas can’t match.

An interesting read on the oyster farmer hoping to unseat Susan Collins in Maine. Graham Platner’s candidacy is attracting a lot of attention.
This story has it all: aquaculture, Black Flag, Bernie Sanders, Star Trek as policy, John Hodgman, male tears, and a candidate citing Luthen’s monologue from Andor.

Meet Graham Platner, the Maine oysterman trying to crack the senate. @grahamformaine.bsky.social

Graham Platner’s campaign launch has been a sudden sensation. But what he’s building now is rooted in the work of a lifetime.

Really great thread here walking through the science of climate change.
Scientists who study climate don't automatically attribute all changes to human activity. Rather, we carefully investigate every possible natural factor that could explain the planet's warming.

Could these be the real culprits?

The evidence is in--and the answer is NO.

This thread explains! 🧵

This is an excellent guide to the junk science perpetrated by RFK's pick to "research" debunked links between vaccines and autism for HHS. Journalists should read up to prepare for what's coming: www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

The whole Jim Acosta interviewing "Joaquin Oliver" thing is just gross. I'm not reposting the tease for it, but you can do a search to find it. I understand his parents are grieving, but that AI bot is not their son and those words aren't his, even if spoken by what sounds like his voice.

I am begging fellow journalists to educate themselves on the myths of fentanyl exposure. Doctors say there has never been an overdose through skin contact. Claims of overdoses through inhaling ambient fentanyl are also unfounded. There's a reason people use needles to get the drug inside them.

This is very good news. And I'm not just saying that because I'm employed by Hearst. It's bad for a community when Alden buys the local paper.
New by me —>

The vulturous hedge fund Alden Global Capital has been prevented from taking over @dallasnews.com — thanks to one final act of stewardship by the family that has run the paper for more than a century.

New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan has replied to a DOJ request for information on the state's voter registration procedures and for New Hampshire's entire statewide voter list. As Scanlan previously noted, NH law only allows disclosure of that list in limited circumstances.

Mamdani has an interesting look at the primary numbers and the swings his successful campaign saw.
This @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social video is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The numbers he cites, the strategy and results they produced — it’s the future. When have you heard *any* campaign talk about this, ever? (Video split in 2 to fit in Bluesky’s limits)
