NYT reporting mass immigrant ICE raids have begun in Chicago.

I'm an immigrant & Chicago based human rights lawyer. I wrote this on how to handle ICE, actions to protect our immigrant neighbors, & debunking anti-immigrant hate.

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.

Smashed records.

Chat, I'm calling y'all in.

We know there's bird flu and norovirus and WE WON'T KNOW IF IT GETS BAD. Wear a damn mask.
Look. You need to be masking in public right now. I don't care why or when you stopped. But right before the cdc was taken offline, even they were encouraging it. Covid never left, bird flu's about to pop off and when it does we won't know. Also, discourage surveillance.
Indiana is the latest to double down on banning masks … still parsing through the bill to understand exactly what this means for those who mask for their health & the health of others.

If you stopped masking, please start again. We must normalize them as a public health tool before it’s too late

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

Please call your senators NOW and tell them to vote AGAINST it. Find your senators here: www.senate.gov/senators/sen...

reminder: this is the point of the barrage of batshit appointments

if you are a tiny bit freaked out by each of them it will add up to “too freaked out to do anything about anything”

pick ONE thing at a time to be upset about, decide what action to take on it, then follow through, repeat
the 278 unbelievable things happening per day are a planned emotional DDOS attack; the shitbirds are counting on you perpetually being too glued to the latest thing to do anything about the previous thing

suggestion: pick one action to take per week, in advance, and do it no matter what news breaks

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.
