Oh please don’t tell people about this hidden gem. It’s hard enough to get a seat sometimes! 😁
Kay’s Bar, Edinburgh! Fabulous! Such a great pub - it had been on our list before and we’d never got there. So glad we made it there today! Great beers, red ceiling, doggy friendly! #pub

£20 for a pizza..! I’m getting old.
Sear's Pizza in Edinburgh has the trappings of a New York style shop, with slices fairly representative of what you'd find at a $1 slice shop in Manhattan at an off hour. But for £3 (~$4). I'll probably return to see what their namesake slice is like (vodka sauce, mozz, pesto swirl) when it's fresh.

Handily Edinburgh built the castle very close to the station.
English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh towns where the main railway station is annoyingly a little trek from the town centre. #Dunfermline #Cheltenham #Colchester.

Any more?

When I lived in Seattle I phoned someone at their equivalent of ‘the council’ saying - I’ve got garden rubbish on the pavement waiting to be picket up. There was silence & confusion on the other end of the line. i had to change it to “I have garden refuge on the sidewalk waiting for collection.” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Loved Pike Place Market when I lived in Seattle in the 90’s. There used to be a place where you could get great chowder. I wonder if it’s still there?

Definitely go read the ‘Indian’ Peter story. It’s quite wild.
The very first (1774) postal directory of Edinburgh was arranged by occupation first, in order of the relative importance the publisher - "Indian" Peter Williamson - personally assigned to each. Lawyers, doctors and clergy were at the top, excisemen, confectioners and landlords at the bottom.
