Dunfermline Abbey Church in the heart of Dunfermline in Fife, burial place of King Robert the Bruce. It is also one of Scotland's most unusual places of worship, split into two very distinct churches that have been joined in the middle. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

Whilst I understand that due process must be followed, I’m concerned that opening a consultation ‘soon’ with the hope for legislative change ahead of the next election - less than six months away - with a growing backlog in the Scottish Parliament that this will be very tough ask.

I did my monthly WEB's count at dawn yesterday in Lochgelly & Dunfermline. Always good to see & hear the recently arrived Whooper Swans at both my sites. Happily there was no signs of avian flu at either site, long my that continue to be the case.

As Chair of Dunfermline Foodbank I would echo these comments on the benefits of being a trustee and contributing to a charity that you care about. I would also want to express my thanks to my fellow trustees for all they do for the Foodbank. @trussellscot.bsky.social
As we mark Trustee Week, we want to take a moment to reflect on just how rewarding trusteeship can be.

Watch this short video from our Chairperson, Johnathan Doran who gives his perspective on being a Trustee.

🔴🔝🔴 SFC Top 10 - most goalkeeper clean sheets 🔴🔝🔴

#4: Eric Martin (74, in 290 games)

Signed in 1967 from Dunfermline, where he played alongside Sir Alex Ferguson, he was our reliable onion bag custodian through to 1975. Surprisingly never capped by Scotland.

Well said. Elspeth was a life force. Blocked by the auld guys who didn’t ‘get’ the People’s Palace. A Harpies & Quines supporter with her suffragette research. She sd have run Kelvingrove but re-energised Dunfermline & revived Stirling’s Smith Gallery instead. It’s such v bad news.
Sorry to learn this.
She had to fight tooth and nail to get the museums to pay any attention to Glasgow's Women.

Dr Elspeth King who has died was a pioneer for culture, working class & hidden histories & Glasgow. She was curator of the People's Palace from 1974-90 & later worked in Dunfermline & Stirling. She stood against official stories & commodification of culture. A towering force with a huge legacy.

I was born and brought up in Dunfermline, the birthplace of Andrew Carnegie. He did a lot for the ppl of the town and surrounding area.
At least 3 or 4 Carnegie Institutes were built in the small villages around Dunfermline. These had a library, daily newspapers, and three full size snooker tables.
Refusing to feed people while building a massive ballroom is a fast track to eat the rich. No pun intended.

#pars "Andrew Tod has reached double figures in the quickest time of any Dunfermline goalscorer in a decade. It means the highly-rated forward has taken just 14 games to reach the impressive milestone, despite not regarding himself as an out-and-out striker."
