“Light resume” unreal. Katie Wilson was spending evenings in the basement of City Hall 10 years ago taking public comment on public transit projects. Didn’t remember reading “light resume” anywhere in the Jack Schlossberg puff piece yesterday.

Good to know that my cringe Neutral Milk Hotel tattoo I got when I was 23 has become an “old internet post”
Establishment Democrats spent a full year complaining the Left forced them to be “woke.”

But then a left populist, Graham Platner, threatened to win in Maine, so they went right back to trying to cancel someone over old internet posts.

What happened to this guy? What melted his brain? He used to make fun little human scale urbanism vids and now he’s been crashing out about Zohran for months.

Seems like all of my neighbors in Red Hook are mad about the BMT plan finally passing but I’m sitting here in a B61 stuck behind a row of SUVs on Columbia St ready for bus priority treatments

I haven’t lived in Seattle for almost 8 years now, but I had the pleasure of serving in the Transit Advisory Board with @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social from 2015-2017. She showed up and worked hard to make Seattle a better place for transit riders. Seattle would be lucky to have her as mayor.

We’re all excited about Zohran but let’s take a moment to savor Jenifer Rajkumar getting absolutely crushed. It’s almost like Eric Adams is extremely toxic or something. Someone should look into that.

Pretty good evidence that he doesn’t actually live here!
In Midtown, where one of Andrew Cuomo's staffers is holding a parking spot for him in front of the polling site he's soon expected to vote at.

Cuomo is registered to vote a few blocks from here, but still driving over.

One thing that stood out really powerfully in last night's mayoral debate is that Zohran Mamdani and Brad Lander both operate from the premise that New York City is a wonderful and beautiful and precious place.

Andrew Cuomo does not.
Homey little songs about how cities are amazing and you feel good when you wander around them and they're where you're from and you couldn't imaging living anywhere else are one of my favorite microgenres.
We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

Everyone is free to think for themselves, but if the conclusion you come to is that a serial harasser and predator should be the next mayor, the people who think you’re morally corrupt are also free to tell you that.
“I think it’s a disgrace when I see a bunch of young, white, progressives trying to tell Black people who we should vote for,” Brooklyn Dems Vice Chair Henry Butler, who’s endorsed Cuomo for mayor, said after the protesters were walked out. “We know how to think for ourselves.”

Actually had occasion to take @mta.info bus this evening. B37 southbound. Halfway through the route stop for a driver change at 39th Street. Waited 15 minutes for the new driver to show up before I gave up and got an Uber. Not even another B37 showed up in that time. Useless.

If Hochul is so concerned with the House majority, why didn't she push through the more aggressive Dem gerrymander? So frustrating.
“A fourth person familiar with the matter said Hochul is responding to worries raised by Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, the House minority leader who is fiercely trying to win back a Democratic majority this year.”

i think the best way to understand the supreme court's conduct in trump v. united states is as an explicit effort to intervene in the 2024 election on behalf of the former president. it is a gross abuse of power on par with dred scott and deserves to be met with sanction from the elected branches.
My thoughts on the oral argument and what the Court is likely to do:
