I worked a campaign a lifetime ago and this is absolutely it. Emails and calls get tallied up and considered in the aggregate. Don't pressure yourself to win a debate that isn't actually a debate.
Just FYI: your job in calling your Senator isn't to persuade them. An intern is going to pick up, and also nobody is changing policy after five minutes with a single angry voter.
Your job is to voice an opinion, and add to a tally of calls expressing that opinion. Constituents pressure together.
