USAID.gov is down. Why is this concerning? Trump has no legal authority to eliminate a congressionally funded independent agency. The work of USAID is vital, and if this can happen to them, it can happen to any of us.

Democrats should boycott any further proceedings with Cabinet nominees until the fundamental assault on Congressional authorities is overturned. Trump can't fire inspector generals like that. Trump can't retroactively decide on appropriations after Congress has spoken.

Article I says Congress makes laws and has power of the purse.
Article II requires POTUS to faithfully execute laws.
Refusing to execute laws so he can usurp Congress’s budgetary authority is unconstitutional.
A self-respecting Congress would do a veto-proof resolution, and if necessary, impeach.
