Working thru a value benefit here: I have a kobo plus sub, but still have a KU sub because I read a lot and believe the Evil Zon is losing $ on me. Also, ebooks are stupid expensive for libraries. Therefore, order of ebook reading operations: kobo plus, KU, then library ebook - this maths, right?

9 people were killed in a tornado last night in KY. The NWS office responsible for that area has faced some of the most extreme cuts by the Trump administration, including the loss of overnight forecasting.

Last night, they were rushing to find help for the office.

Great thread, and good comments after. I was not food insecure in 2020 but with groceries being weird back then having an instant pot and a cupboard of dried beans made me feel VERY prepared.
Dear people who may soon suffer food insecurity

Listen up, it super fucking sucks and will do lasting psych damage the rest of your life. This is not a joke or exaggeration. What you have on hand will forever after be a source of anxiety.

SO. To help you in the coming days here's some tips

I've spent most of march either walking petitions for ballot access, talking to volunteers and candidates walking petitions, building walking lists, supporting local candidates in village elections, and basically thinking about local politics. I'm exhausted but y'all, the work is on the ground.

MAYBE IT'S NOT THE JUDGES
As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies.

The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits.

Maybe it's not the judges?

Yesterday, I published an investigation into a secretive & abusive NYPD unit led by Mayor Eric Adams’ buddies.

Adams has embraced the unit, the Community Response Team, even after NYPD officials raised red flags.

This is what that has wrought.

Trump is using his long history as a rape apologist as a blueprint for victim-blaming Zelenskyy.

Shame on media that falls for it.

Remember, their policies are deeply unpopular. They do not have the support the media wants you to believe they have. We have numbers. These people are ghouls pushing white male supremacy.

Take a deep breath and do not let them break you. Ever.

Great article and the situation is v relevant to mtgs in the Village of Montgomery NY. observations: 1. More public booing! 2. Wear a mask when jeering, it's healthier AND obfuscates. 3. Be prepared to act in apparent kidnappings like this. This audience wasn't. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
