Just so we're all clear: It's not a coincidence that the first senator they've used physical force against is Sen. Alex Padilla, a Latino man representing California.

First, she is lying. It is a lie. No other word for it.

Second, this is an assault not just on Padilla as a person, but on the Legislative Branch of government by the Executive Branch.

Under the framework our Founders developed, he outranks her yet is treated like this.

Let that sink in.

Everything is escalation now. Taking a step back is considered weakness. Consider that when thinking through strategy.
House Speaker Mike Johnson calls for the Senate to "censure" Alex Padilla after he was restrained and handcuffed by FBI agents at Kristi Noem's presser, adding that it is "wildly inappropriate behavior."

So it looks like Republicans want to escalate this!

One aspect of Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" that isn't getting enough attention?

It would give ICE tens of billions in additional funding to conduct more violent raids and abductions across the country.

A big, ugly, authoritarian nightmare.

This is the most straightforward thing they've said so far. They're using the military to "liberate" Los Angeles from its mayor and governor.
Kristi Noem: "We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

Sen. Alex Padilla is then forcibly removed!

Never underestimate how much Republican messaging relies on their followers being:

A) Scared of large cities
B) Unfamiliar with large cities
C) Unable to conceive of how large a city like LA (or Seattle or Portland or Minneapolis) is
D) Too stupid and incurious to read maps

Works every time.
Los Angeles population is roughly 4M+ people.
It’s a massive city, folks.

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory.

Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.
