Whoa! The shutdown’s ripple effect starting to hit.

Burbank Airport in LA County has no air traffic controllers on duty due to sick calls, last-minute day-off requests, and staffing shortages.

If you’re flying anywhere in the country, check for delays.

I had a judge presiding over one of my cases ask me if I had been a defendant in one of his cases because he recognized me. I was like nope. I'm counsel. I was dressed impeccably in a vintage Calvin Klein suit that I'd paid way too much money for. It happened in 2005ish and I still think about it.
So exhausting..

to be clear, Klein said this in response to Coates describing Black Americans having the history of being lynched and how that is also political violence.

it’s bonkers to just move on like “well if we count that legacy of violence that marginalized groups have experienced, it makes things bleak”

Kimmel’s defiant return highlights one of the most disturbing dynamics of Trump II, that so many people in positions of leadership are chickenshit frauds who would rather fold in advance than put up anything resembling a fight www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

One stark marker of how much our society has devolved in just a few years is Bob Iger personally got on a call to convince us to let Disney/HULU make the 1619 Project. That America no longer exists.

The silence of celebrities is exactly why I stopped caring about their music and movies. I’m not rushing to theaters or concerts unless I want entertainment. I’m not putting down money for people who can’t even speak up for their fans.

the 80s and 90s were such an amazing era for little kids watching movies that they absolutely should not have been watching
Julia Roberts may have received a Best Actress nomination for PRETTY WOMAN at the 1991 Academy Awards but the real accolade we need to talk about is how the same performance won her the award for Favorite Movie Actress that same year at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

Tariff increases affect the food we eat AND directly impact the PRODUCTION and PACKAGING of said food.

The US doesn't make the plastic or the cardboard that most food is packed in. We don't make the manufacturing equipment.

The entire shop was discussing how Black haircare products are not good for our hair. They’re putting something in them. It’s ridiculous. You’re better off using regular shampoo in the $5 bin than what they market to us.
Btw #blacksky don't forget 1 Sept we're not giving these people our money for haircare. If they mean us harm and put poison in their products they don't get our money. There are options: product swaps, lots of tutorials to make your own, and natural hair care products (preferably black owned).
