A sickening mistake. Once again, RFK is proving he’s more interested in promoting pseudoscience than actually making Americans healthy again.

And it'll be our kids who pay the price.

The CDC must reverse this immediately.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s hand-picked vaccine committee voted on Friday to do away with the long-standing, universal recommendation that all babies receive a hepatitis B shot at birth, issuing weaker guidance for certain infants.

An 18yo US citizen, surrounded by eight masked, armed agents of the state, taken into custody, not read his rights, not offered a chance to contact a lawyer, proof of citizenship ignored, handcuffed so tightly he later required medical attention.

Profoundly, profoundly anti-American shit.

This is very interesting (and yeah, I also had an initial “oh come on, that’s nuts” reaction to the first part of this article, but as I read on, I realized he was making some pretty compelling points)
This is an insightful but deeply upsetting article about why everyone in the US feels poor, and why the current political situation emerges as a direct result.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the trans people lost to violence in the U.S. this year.

Widespread poverty, homelessness, and discrimination makes trans people 4x more likely to experience violence than the average person.

We shouldn’t have to live in fear to be who we are.

To be clear: my ultimate goal is universal free school breakfast *and* lunch.

Again: school meal debt shouldn’t exist at all. See a kid, feed a kid. Period.

Taking care of breakfast now so we can come back for lunch later is a stepping stone to eliminating school meal debt in the commonwealth.

All of this is true enough as far as it goes. But even more problematic is the fact that when the U.S. Coast Guard interdicts suspect vessels, boarding and searching for drugs, a quarter of the time they find no contraband.

We're not just murdering drug smugglers.
We are murdering innocent people.
Rep. Adam Smith: "This country has not agreed to have the death penalty for drug smuggling. If we want to have that policy conversation, we can have that policy conversation, but the president has unilaterally decided that lethal force is going to be applied. It's an enormous expansion of power."

I wish more people were outraged to know that 13% of military families rely on SNAP/WIC. What a shame that our country can’t pay their soldiers a living wage.
CBS went to a military food pantry (those words, in order) to interview moms. 13% of military families rely on SNAP/WIC. When a military spouse of a deployed soldier on enlisted salary was asked if people should be surprised: “No they shouldn’t. We live in poverty just like everybody else.”
