Helloooooooo.

I'm here for political discourse. Music / concert chats. Foodie stuff. Midwestern news / happenings. Book discussions. And who knows what else!

Waymo is not familiar with our game.

The streets of this city will break these things’ artificial brains and chassis in every way imaginable. And then will strip them for parts.

Every freaking year. The incompetence is astounding.
Officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation admitted their crews didn’t pre-treat roads before a quick burst of snowfall blanketed the St. Louis region and led to numerous crashes and traffic gridlock Monday afternoon.
MoDOT didn’t pre-treat roads before Monday’s snow. Agency says it expected later arrival
The National Weather Service says between 2-4 inches of snow could fall in the St. Louis region Monday.

Thanks @democrats.org for consistently showing us your asses by really focusing on the things your base cares about. #smdh 🤦🏼‍♀️
US Congress voted 285–98 to condemn "socialism." 88 Democrats joined Republicans, including Hakeem Jeffries.

What they mean by socialism is your access to healthcare, housing, safety regulations, and anything that benefits you instead of the oligarchy. There has been no vote to condemn fascism. #3E

And sold out the American people in the process. Were any changes actually made? Or they just voted this bullshit through?
Breaking: The House just voted to reopen the government.

Congress is going to vote to release the files.

Trump’s DOJ is gonna claim some bogus reason not to comply.

SCOTUS is gonna rule, and if they rule in favor, Trump’s DOJ is gonna delay, partially comply, and obfuscate.

Basically this is gonna drag out for months still.

NYT: but her emails
Landon Thomas Jr of the New York Times got told by Jeffrey Epstein that Trump walked into a glass door bc he was so busy staring at girls in Epstein's house and didn't print it. wild that the Times didn't consider that newsworthy.

Best case: The President of the United States knew about a pedophilia ring and did nothing to stop it.

Medium case: He also used his office to protect the perpetrators.

Worst case: Because he was one of the perpetrators.

The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer

Here’s the list of the eight Democrats who caved:

⚫️ Catherine Cortez Masto
⚫️ Dick Durbin
⚫️ John Fetterman
⚫️ Maggie Hassan
⚫️ Tim Kaine
⚫️ Angus King
⚫️ Jackie Rosen
⚫️ Jeanne Shaheen

Their excuses don’t hold water. They betrayed all Americans who were counting on them to stand firm and keep fighting.

Yes. Hold the line.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The Dems who are caving are doing so not because their base wants them to,

not because the voters want them to,

not because the fed workers and SNAP recipients want them to…

they are caving because their DONORS want them to.

And that’s really all that ever matters to the corrupt

The old rulebook is gone. It's not coming back and we all need to accept that. The DOJ is weaponized. the GOP is rigging elections. Trump is literally bulldozing the White House.

Democrats need to operate under this new reality, fight hard, and play by the same rules.

Ripping our hearts out over and over is the GOP way. The cruelty has been the point for awhile now.
“If the West Wing is the mind of the nation, then the East Wing is the heart.”

- former First Lady Betty Ford

The East Wing is gone.

Over a century of American history, reduced to rubble.

All to appease the vanity of a corrupt authoritarian.

This is chilling. The President is asserting authority to kill completely outside of the law. And plans to keep at it.

We are not at war, and he is ignoring the criminal laws that actually apply (eg, murder).

No limiting principle stops him from doing this to others he labels "terrorists."

Trump: "I don't think we're necessarily going to ask for a declaration of war, I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We're going to kill them. They're going to be, like dead."
