There’s just so much shady shit in this story, but this really sticks out. Folks in NLRB’s IT unit were so freaked out by what they saw DOGE doing that they wanted to notify the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Then this happened:

ok but "does not pay taxes or write poetry" is a much better descriptor of what it means to be a Kennedy
As I wrote in the piece, Kennedy continues to use stigmatizing and frankly pretty shocking language to refer to people with autism, implicitly framing them as a burden on society and their families who will, as he said, "never pay taxes" or "write a poem."

It is really bothering me (understatement) that the message is “bring back that one innocent guy” and not “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK SHUT DOWN THIS WHOLE OPERATION IMMEDIATELY.”

thought crimes are now illegal in the united states. it’s truly baffling that their anyone was ever convinced by the right being pro “free speech”. anyone who gave any credence to that argument is a rube
Imagine trying to deport someone for their "expected beliefs"

Many medical supplies are manufactured outside of the US. I would buy additional KN95, N95 and KF94 masks now, as well as any medical supplies you regularly rely on. Even basics like bandages, Aquaphor, medicated lotion and pimple patches. Order that stuff asap.

Both ‘libel’ & ‘slander’ refer to defamation and are often confused for each other.

‘Libel’ is a written/published statement.
'L' for 'letters.'

‘Slander’ is for spoken.
'S' for 'spoken.'

‘Label’ & ‘slender’ are different words and are rarely confused for each other.

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.

When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

Thinking of “the bottom line” not as a measure of cynicism, but as “when it comes down to it, what intangible value is more important than anything else in the world to you?”

And I’m trying to decide if it for me is something specific, like family. or broader, like love, or laughter, or meaning

it's kinda wild how Bush's first album is one of the best albums of the 90s, period, and yet Gavin Rossdale is so horrifically uncool and irrelevant
