You folks watching this? Take notes and Do Better!! You’re in the business of journalism for christs sake, not stenography. Act like it!
🇦🇺 REPORTER: “How much wealthier are you now?”

TRUMP: “My kids are running my businesses 🤥 … I’m building a ballroom…”

🇦🇺 REPORTER: “Is it appropriate for a president to be doing so many business deals while in office?”

TRUMP: “You’re hurting Australia right now.”🤔

From the Editorial Board:

We’ve said from the start that the nothing-to-see-here, murder-rate-is-down, crime-is-under-control, we-know-best argument from local politicians was a loser.

one of the biggest technological revolutions in human history is happening quietly, and the part of the reason its quiet is because our own country is being left behind, so that Trump and Republicans can funnel our money to their Saudi paymasters

He is so fucking GOOD at this, and makes me think about how unfairly maligned the word "communications" has become. "Communications" has largely come to mean "a corporation or politician blowing smoke up your ass." BUT! Talking to adults as adult w clear communication abt important things is GOOD!"
The 14th Street Busway has been a smashing success: faster commutes, fewer crashes, calmer streets.

So why is Eric Adams blocking a similar plan for 34th Street?

I’d like to see the Democrats focus more on process than policy. Its more unifying. But we really need an expanded court, more House districts, new states (and 2 sen). Overturning citizens united, banning gerrymandering. Maybe public funded elections. Change the rules, then we can argue about policy

the white house thinks brute force is, no pun intended, a trump card. they don’t anticipate pushback and they don’t know how to handle it with anything other than escalation. the issue is that each escalation is itself a gamble. if protesters refuse to back down, you’ve lost face. (1/?)

Can’t get over this image of Governor Gretchen Whitmer shielding herself from cameras in the Oval Office this past week.

Whitmer’s spokesperson said she was at the White House to meet with Trump about Michigan matters and didn’t know she would be walking into a press event.

President Trump's approach to the war in Ukraine is a reversal of the last three years, the editorial board writes, "but also a repudiation of a nearly eight-decade core belief that the United States was safer in a world where it stood against aggression and authoritarianism and for freedom."

Ever see (or heaven forfend been in) a family where one partner beats the shit out the other partner, engages in financial abuse, just a horror show

and then everyone pretends to maintain the status quo for others

That's my country.
Should've jailed Trump and his cohorts immediately. Members of Congress. His advisors.

It was literally an attempted coup. And we treated it like a rough day at the office. Some of the people already convicted might even go free because of SCOTUS! We fucked it up!
