Anyone who thinks it’s possible to fake disability for fraudulent benefits has clearly never known anyone even obliquely who has had to interact with the systems involved. Driven by a false FEAR of fraud: labyrinthine friction and ridiculous obstacles, designed to get the user to give up.
You can’t tell if someone is disabled just by looking at them.
There’s no such thing as the “genuinely disabled”.
You are not entitled to a person’s entire medical history just so you can decide whether to believe them or not.
People are not faking disability, most are trying to fake being well.

Always assume that disabled folx are part of any community to which you belong, whether or not we feel safe to disclose that information publicly. Normalize asking about access needs, and offering accommodations to make it less risky to share our disabilities. Understand that ableism is insidious! 👀

This is absolutely fubar.
A large swath of Albertans have been decrying “True Freedom” doesn’t exist for them. It certainly doesn’t for their most vulnerable at this point. When will the citizens of Alberta act like Canadians? It’s time. We’re stronger together. Truly. 🇨🇦💪🇨🇦
