I can’t believe how everything in American politics gets stupider and stupider every week

- Trump annihilates the east wing
-says the government should pay him millions of dollars
-decides to bail out Argentina for billions of dollars

The administration knows ANTIFA isn't a thing.
They're shitting themselves over THE LARGEST PEACEFUL PROTEST ever.
They're freaked that the left is THAT disciplined and focused WITHOUT a control body like they claim ANTIFA is.
That terrifies them.
They just realized they aren't in control.

I also believe that all we need is 3.5% of the population to participate in a General Strike to bring this administration to it's knees.

FWIW - As the Trump Admin deports people the relative percentage of demonstrators in numbers of 7 million or above gets larger because our census counts all persons living in the US regardless of citizenship. So that 330 million count is now lower & that’s a real thing.

Rachel, please don’t go on for any more than 10 minutes about the protest. We all know about them we were there. We want to know about their effect might be. Where do we go from here? 7 million people said something so what happens next?

They're over estimating. We've already seen how the 0.1% have destroyed America.

Been learning about the 3.5% Rule this weekend. I daresay it has sparked the faintest flicker of hope in my soul that we can turn this shit around.

one category of show prep material for TRMS staff is something we've always called "subway reading".

it's something that's not exactly current events or new reporting... but nevertheless relevant food for thought given the news we're in.

today's subway reading:

The '3.5% rule': How a small minority can change the world
Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.

This is functionally a robbery of New York City and New York State taxpayers, who contribute billions more to the federal government annually than we get back.

Stealing our money, blocking our bus lanes.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.
