@karaswisher.bsky.social @profgalloway.com yes to moving toward #universalhealthcare asap but it was really weird to hear you say so cavalierly that young people don’t even need healthcare. Surely you know what it costs to have a baby uninsured?!

Yesterday was signature #Seattle. The only evidence that there is a sun somewhere = a light grey strip between the darker grey strips. But, especially with a finish-able puzzle on the boat ( 🙌 @ferries.wsdot.wa.gov ) it was cozy not depressing. Perfect Saturday.

I squeeze A LOT of live #theater into my modest budget by going to see my friends' kids in all their high school productions. It's such a joy! Really looking forward to tonight's show at Garfield in #Seattle.

Omg this is what my (then) 7yo did to her dollhouse when she got a bunch of gold glitter stickers from Joann's.

I love how @hannarosin.bsky.social does "radio" so I suggest listening--but this is a good snapshot however you consume it. My view: yep many investors will lose but that doesn't mean #AI is overhyped in terms of its (wildly uneven) impact on people. That's real.

I wrote this yesterday, not even sure if I believed it. Because I write to find out what I think (h/t Joan Didion), it was a worthwhile exercise, even with a lot of pushback coming to my inbox. kategace.substack.com/p/hear-me-out

Homeward bound! High five to the gate agent who announced:
“I need one more person to check their bag.” PAUSE “I need a hero.”
PAUSE “I'm holding out for a hero till the end of the night. He's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast. And he's gotta be fresh from the fight. PAUSE “Thank you, sir.”

Due to travel snafus I got to listen to all of today's oral argument audio. It's weird that this was surprising but I detected a #SCOTUS soft spot (pretty much across the board?) for--sit down for this-- #ruleoflaw .
November 5, 2025 at 7:01 PM
@dahlialithwick.bsky.social how do the #SCOTUS justices handle turn taking, i.e. who asks a question next? I'm imagining some kind of Jeopardy-type button but I'm guessing you'll tell me otherwise.

Is the main point of #HouseofDynamite that we don't have serious people in these critical roles right now? Because that is the only thing I can think watching it.

The last time I got an update on Andrew Lih, I was walking around Seattle with his equally formidable wife, my friend @meifong.bsky.social. Next thing I knew he was one of two people who disarmed a man with a gun at a @wikipedia.org conference. Andrew's related post is a must read: lnkd.in/grjXzhHV
Why Wikipedia Still Matters in the Age of AI and Grokipedia
It was Friday, October 17, 2025, at the WikiConference North America in New York City. During the opening session, a man walked onto the stage with a gun and threatened to end his life after a dispute...
