Helped a couple from Brooklyn adopt a baby from NH this summer. Just got a picture of her with one of her dads, on the way to vote for Zohran Mamdani. Never been so invested in another city’s election before! Honestly happy crying here.

Mike Johnson: "Any administration in a govt shutdown has a figurative control panel with dials of pain. While the Obama administration turned it to 10, Trump has kept it to 0 or 1."

As a Dartmouth alum who only wanted to attend Dartmouth, whose parents met at UCONN, I’m feeling extremely personally attacked here 😂
"First of all, let me quickly say to all the non-Dartmouth Admissions officers: I liked your schools fine, and this has no bearing on you. Just understand, I have decided to use this platform to tell Dartmouth how all-in I am on them."

Can't believe we're all up feeling relieved a judge told the president he can't invade Oregon while also wondering what we do next if he does it anyway, mostly because his cartoon villain advisors are showing him fake videos and his brain is pudding, just truly the worst but also dumbest timeline.

Can I just say … I wish the general population was as upset and outspoken about trans people being labeled as dangerous, sub-human enemies of the state as they are about the cis white male comedian getting his show taken off the air ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I get called radical because I want affordable housing and rational, compassionate immigration policy and gun reform that helps keep kids safe.

Radicals like me are never going to kill people for our ideology because that’s literally not our ideology.

Very pleased to see that @goodlander.house.gov and @repchrispappas.bsky.social voted against the NDAA! (Not shocked at all to see Jared Golden's name on the vote to pass list.)
1. Yesterday, the NDAA, a must-pass military bill, cleared the House with several anti-trans amendments from Nancy Mace.

A bathroom ban, sports ban, tricare coverage ban, pride flag ban, and more for trans people were attached.

17 Democrats joined to pass it.

Democrat Billie Butler has won a special election for the NH House by a 55-45 margin, very close to Harris' 55-44 margin in 2024.

Butler, a trans woman, was the target of vicious anti-trans attacks by Republicans.

Bodily autonomy is a human right.

Transness isn't a disease that needs to be cured. We're a normal part of the spectrum that is the human condition. And we deserve to have the final say over our own bodies - not just because of the harm if we don't, but because they belong to us and not the state.

"We should be prepared to defend the basic rights of all of Trump’s targets with our full strength. If a single person becomes disposable, anyone could become the next target."
It shouldn't matter if Trump’s victims have criminal records. If we only defend the “innocent,” the fascists will argue that their victim “was no angel.” An anti-fascist rhetoric that carves out exceptions for imperfect victims is a gift to our opponents.
