Wee bit of a mess. Musician, environmental scientist, gamer, artist, reader, sports apologist. Chances are, I’m interested.

Once again, why I hate that fucking poem.

They come for anybody, we show up for anybody, it’s actually much simpler.

Welp.
Some higher ed organizations who are loudly circling the wagons against federal funding cuts were oddly silent or circumspect about the earlier attacks on CRT and DEI.

I wish there was a better understanding that these attacks are coming because we failed to repel those.

i hate to be that bitch and i usually never say annoying things like this, but the destruction of all safety regulations for meat & dairy production in the US is a very good reason to go vegan if you are able to do so

This.

Let's normalize not letting racists be the main character when black people are doing things.

Sometimes you hear more about the racist backlash than the activity itself.

If you really want to make those dudes mad, ignore them - this is just a way for them to get attention for nothing.
I am having a real hard time with how "unremarkable racists react to black people doing things" is just a regular part of the conversation about black art on social media. It always makes the art feel subordinate to whiteness, like we can't talk about black people without finding a white lens first.

Did you know that Solo TTRPGs are incredibly diverse? Whatever your tastes in games, you've got options. This is the golden age of solo roleplaying experiences!

I've been thinking about how to break down the various categories of solo-able RPGs, and here's my attempt... 🧵

Nuts are an major part of Thanksgiving. The climate crisis has to be addressed at the global level, but consumer choice plays a role. One thing we can do is switch from almonds (R in photo) to pecans (L). Both are similar in nutrition, but it is water use and geography that makes a difference. 🌍 1/4

I think this is very true! AI is often presented as the democratisation of art, making its creation accessible to all - but I think actually it's the opposite. By hiding its workings it re-mystifies the creation of art, turning it into something that can only be done by geniuses or supercomputers
No.
1. The environmental cost is not worth the gains.
2. The effort of making a thing, the repetition, the creative culs-de-sac, all serve to improve me, and I do definitely want to be better. It's a false economy to get AI to do all that for me.

Your brain and your soul need the reps.

TTRPG community it's great to say ai art is bad, to point out its use etc

What's also good, is supporting the creators that aren't using it as well ✨

Those creators are struggling against those who are using it and need the support

As our work ends up getting overlooked by shinier options

Am I using this meme correctly? In any case, I just need to put this out into the social media ether. As I have been moving away from quantitative grades/quantitative feedback in my courses the past few semesters, the learning environment has completely changed and is unquestionably better.

In my admittedly brief time running pathfinder 2e, I've noticed newer players struggling to find a use for their turn's last action, or worse: letting that third action go to waste.

So, to help people to learn and think about this system, I've prepared a brief list of "third actions" (thread below)
