Ken Sim hopes you don't see this screenshot from the City's 2026 Budget Feedback report.

By a more than 4-to-1 margin, residents of Vancouver preferred a tax rate that maintained public services to ABC's reckless 0% tax gimmick.

Here’s my humble pitch: we stop calling Vancouver’s housing market a “slowdown” or “slump”, implying that it was a great time before.

And instead, consider that after three years of similar numbers, acknowledge a new reality that everyone should adjust to.

NDP leadership candidate Avi Lewis is meeting the moment.
New Yorkers just proved bold socialist ideas can win. Ottawa just proposed the most harmful climate and care budget since Harper.

Bold ideas win and we need to rebuild that kind of NDP.

Clash of cultures: Why all science isn’t open science

Worth highlighting this post, which communicates a key tension in the #OpenSciene movement.
The #OpenScience movement aims to transform how scientists work with each other and with society. These shifts pull in different directions — and “scientific cultures” helps make sense of the tension.

The wealthy have benefited far too long from a tax code that favours wealth and penalizes work. This is upside down. Great societies are built by its working population. Create a tax code that reflects this.
