NEW: Final vote to permanently close Carleton Elementary in East Van has passed.

One ABC trustee broke ranks and opposed closing the school, but Green trustees voted for the closure.

Reminder of the breadth and depth of the damage that will be done by Ken Sim’s cuts.

Given the present hysteria being whipped up by conservative forces against B.C.’s recent advances on Indigenous rights, it is more important than ever to defend Vancouver’s commitment to truth and reconciliation.

Another huge loss at City Hall. The city of Vancouver will miss her leadership, passion, and strength. The work she achieved with such a small team will resonate for generations. It will resonate across the province, country, and indeed the world.
Michelle Bryant-Gravelle knew it wouldn’t be an easy journey when she accepted a position at the City of Vancouver as its first senior director of Indigenous relations three years ago. She’s now stepped away from her role, due to a number of incidents at the city over the past year.
