#RIP #AdamGreenberg Adam was a brilliant cinematographer as well as the best possible collaborator and teacher. Working with him on THE TERMINATOR, ALIEN NATION and T2 made me a better producer. His quiet leadership on set as well as his innovative night photography made such a difference.

Relatedly, if you are ever in a test screening for a film/tv show and something confused you, no it didn't.
All these TikToks going after screenwriters for shitty dialogue without any awareness that the on-the-nose dialogue is a directive of studios *because* of viewers on TikTok during their shows.

The Parents Television Council has gone bankrupt.

Good riddance to this group of publicity hungry, pear-clutching, self-appointed guardians. Just a group of ultra-conservative censors hiding behind children

Nancylee was the most kind & brilliant soul. “South of Nowhere,” the groundbreaking lesbian teen drama, was a show made with zero money, long hours, but Nancylee’s unbridled passion and hilarious sense of humor made working on it a treasured experience. www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/n...

Tears of joy in 2025 because a terrific show from a streaming service is showing me footage from its second season four months — not one to three years — after its first season finished airing.

On One Tree Hill, Mark Schwahn, after yelling at us for arriving a few minutes late the morning after we worked until 11pm the night before, tried to inspire us by reading aloud, with Shakespearean gravitas, a scene he just wrote in which Nathan single-handily wins the big game as the crowd cheers.
The Bear S4 is definitely validating my feeling that for the last three seasons it's become more and more a self-flatteringly agonized show about being a show runner--a genius beset by people who want something from him, his brilliance and his faults tragically entangled, so good but so flawed, etc.

OK, so here’s my JJ Abrams story…

Before I started working in digital restoration one of my primary jobs in post-production support was running the in-house theater and screening rooms at work. Every now and again it would get booked for casting sessions, because it was perfectly suited for that…
Happy birthday to the composer of the theme music to the nonexistent 70s private detective TV series “Chuck Taggart, Private Eye!”

That’s one hell of a story. I suppose it’s about time I told it…
