A veteran moving to the Pacific Northwest, then driving to DC to stage a mass shooting of government agents? Sounds like he assimilated into American culture pretty successfully.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

This is it. We know exactly how to fix the climate crisis. We have all the technology and we know what actions we need to take. What people are hoping for is a technology that will fix everything without us having to change anything at all, and that's a fantasy. We have to do the work.
The most insanely frustrating thing about the #ClimateCrisis is how the breakthrough we so clearly need isn’t technological. It’s just a collective willingness, a determination even, to change in ways that would clearly be SO MUCH BETTER than the clear and obvious consequences of NOT changing.

Interesting thread!

Something to consider about the growth of the 'No Kings' movement in America: normal neighbors standing on street corners read as very radical and enraged in America, though some activists see it as pretty blah.
Activists tended to perceive peaceful, non-disruptive forms of protest as significantly less radical than the general public, but viewed civil disobedience, illegal, and violent tactics to be significantly more radical than the general public.

Attacks on trans rights are often framed as efforts to "protect women."

But the reality is that such attacks only protect the patriarchy. Because enforcing a strict sex-based gender binary makes it easier to tilt that binary into a hierarchy where women are subordinate to men.

I sat in the British Library reading League of Empire Loyalists, BNP & National Front literature for my book and even they claimed to promote *voluntary* repatriation. Forcible deportation was always the ghost behind those ideas, but it’s amazing that UK politicians don’t even bother to hide it.
To be clear: deportations to increase cultural homogeneity is the text book definition of ethnic cleansing. Demands that come even close to this are so far outside any democratic norm and the rule of law. What has happened to a country when this is not condemned in the strongest possible terms?
