House Republicans could force a vote on this deadly, gun lobby-backed bill as soon as the government reopens—we can’t let that happen.

Why a federal concealed carry gun bill must be stopped - The Boston Globe
The law would force all states to recognize concealed carry permissions from anywhere else in the country, and would be highly dangerous for civilians and law enforcement.

Landmark Paris Agreement set a path to slow warming. The world hasn't stayed on it
The world has seen faster climate change than expected since the Paris Agreement a decade ago. Scientists say Earth's warming has outpaced efforts to reduce fossil fuel pollution that came out of the 2015 accord.

It's sad to see that the Trump regime has - for now - succeeded in bringing down the @noaa website reporting on atmospheric CO2 at Mauna Loa since 1958. Now via the government shutdown, but it was already under attack by selling its building and scrapping jobs too.

Today is the 60th(!) anniversary of the first public report on the dangers of fossil fuel pollution.
What happened? A whole lot of fossil fuel bullsh*t and corruption in service of a whole lot of nothing.
All while pollution and warming escalated far beyond what scientist predicted in 1965.

The claim that “emissions have come down” in this @nytimes.com @sominisengupta.bsky.social article on where we are ten years post-Paris is FALSE.
Global emissions were at an all-time high in 2024.
As it stands this claim is misinformation. They need to issue a correction!

I'll keep repeating this truth. There are few industries that understand the complex realities of how climate change is affecting the world today more than insurance.
Physical risk. Non-physical risk. Liability risk. Reputational risk. Etc.
We see it.

To understand how Bari Weiss might approach climate coverage at CBS, I read every climate article the Free Press has published.
Almost every one reinforced a common fossil fuel industry talking point—that climate change is exaggerated, that solutions don't work, and that fossil fuels = freedom
