The sheer cruelty is breathtaking.
After Biden commuted the sentences of 37 men on federal death row last year, the Trump administration is retaliating by sending them to the supermax. Prisoners are locked in cells smaller than a parking space 22-24 hours a day.

One prisoner told me he fears he won't make it out alive.

Trump officials are retaliating by imposing the harshest conditions in the entire federal prison system, including near total isolation.

More than 20 citizens held for day or more, incommunicado

A Latino family in L.A. sued over an illegal eviction. The landlord's lawyer, Rod Fehlman, warned in an email that they'd "likely be picked up by ICE and deported prior to trial thanks to all the good work the Trump administration has done."

The kicker? Every member of the family is a U.S. citizen.
Latino tenants sued their landlord. A lawyer told them they would be 'picked up by ICE.'

Abrego is the *only* prisoner ever released from CECOT, so this is the sole account we have of the horrifying conditions in the prison in El Salvador where Trump has sent over 260 people from the US.
Abrego said he shared a cell with 20 people, who were forced to kneel overnight, “with guards striking anyone who fell from exhaustion.”
He was denied bathroom access and soiled himself. Detainees were confined to metal bunks w/no mattresses in an overcrowded cell w/no windows, bright lights…
Politico - Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was illegaly deported by the Trump administration, details his mistreatment in a Salvadoran prison, claiming he suffered "severe beatings," sleep deprivation, malnutrition and other forms of torture at the hands of his jailers.
