The problem with this is America, as a whole, has never put their bodies or lives on the line to protect anyone. American democracy has always been dependent on a minority group fighting against the majority and embarrassing the majority into respecting their rights.
It's time to talk about how if people really want this American experiment aka "democracy" to survive, they will need to put bodies on the line to protect the vulnerable.
Otherwise, the United States will just become yet another nation ruled by kings, thugs, and cowards.
