I wish I could morally be a property manager for an out of state landlord. Mine has been lying and deflecting about our roof for years and finally when the roofer is contracted the work started this morning. An hour after the guys got to it I had a text from the PM saying they're starting tomorrow.

I'm going down the list and reacting to my favorites to be annoying (I love this person and their whole deal so this is intended as bening-annoying)
I'm in. One like = one opinion that's not about politics, will not be explained, and will probably make at least 15% of y'all mad.
Okay, lets do this.

One like, one opinion that's not on politics.

Dicking around with settings and realized my phone has screen time limits. Five minute warning, 1 minute warning and the app becomes grayscale, and then it pauses until midnight with no way to "snooze" the pause. Man, what a boon

Far be it from me to praise the English but it would be hilarious to see 38 in a 30 get your license suspended in the US. If you go 8 over that's probable cause for a search in some states lol

Teacher apprenticeships are taking off in Colorado. Could they help schools chip away at the educator shortage?
Teacher apprenticeships are taking off in Colorado. Could they help schools chip away at the educator shortage?
Since Colorado lawmakers established the Teacher Degree Apprenticeship Program in 2023, more teachers from a diversity of backgrounds are en route to the classroom

Asked about Jeffrey Epstein, Trump replies: "I can't believe you're asking a question on Epstein at a time like this where we've had the greatest success and also tragedy with what happened in Texas."

"It just seems like a desecration."

a big benefit of getting rid of the last generation of democratic leadership is that we can finally admit those votes on the aumf were a century-defining blight and build a society that tries to right those many wrongs
i think this is right and to me the over arching idea is: we need to end the war on terror. we’ve been in a state of constitutional exception for 25 years,
and it has eroded our democracy to the breaking point. dismantling the tools of the war on terror is a big piece
My sense is that the 22 agencies that were combined into the new Department of Homeland Security in 2002 generally functioned better before the combination. Isn't it worth seriously considering whether it's time to do away with DHS and disperse its various functions back to DOJ, Treasury, etc?

not talking about my non-electoral / anarchist friends, but if you're into elections, I completely judge you by your opinion of Zohran. politics that wouldn't be particularly radical in Eisenhower's party, absolute dime piece, classic political messaging expertise... if you oppose him you're sus

On the other side of all this, denazification can't be handled by liberals. They did it last time and thousands of Nazi officials got away to other countries, remaining in or adjacent to the positions of power they had before, and even got recruited to the US military and space programs.

You know what would have been a good story, @nytimes.com, is that a member of the board of trustees of a public university was using private student data hacked and stolen from another university

You could have published that! You had all the information you needed to publish that!

If I can get one message to the Democrats (or whoever wants to do their supposed job, I'm not picky), it's this: it doesn't matter if it's legal or normal to most people.

"I'm going to completely reform SCOTUS and expand the House to Article 1 numbers"

Oh but the president ca- shut up nerd

I'm on the Gulf Coast of Florida and you should have to prove you planted a mangrove tree to graduate from high school imo
What’s your pro-social works program?

Mine is planting regionally appropriate nut trees

Air & water quality benefits

Wildlife benefits

Shelf-stable food for decades

Brings people back together yearly for care, harvest, processing

Sparks curiosity in food systems and nature
that said we don't need to wait for people to get incarcerated to think about how to make pro social activities accessible. this is a public works program we could sink billions into rather than the gestapo jobs program we've landed on in the US

The government should literally be doing things to help people be interesting. Activities where you try hard at stuff soothes your poor monkey brain and puts you in a situation to make friends and - God forbid - get laid!
Funding the fuck out of free public athletic facilities from fields to gyms and a corresponding arts program for outdoor and indoor stages for performance and instrument / art supplies lending libraries. Get the kids doing stuff and make it cheap for their parents.

Normally I don't run NPCs alongside the party but they worked so hard to recruit these two boss level NPCs that I let it slide. They were hooting and hollering while fighting alongside these Giants. Everyone has such a blast.

Recently turned in a deeply researched draft of a book on What AI Actually Is and reader, this is 100% correct
"The problem with AI isn't that it can do your job. It can't. The problem with AI is that your MBA-brained boss's boss doesn't know how your job works and thinks AI can do your job at fractions of a penny on the dollar, and hears the siren song of 'maximize shareholder value'."

MBA-brain is real.
They’re literally advertising it.

Seeing Alligator Alcatraz - a concentration camp, let's be clear - go up in the space of a week hurts a million ways. Not least of which is how state capacity is used only to hurt us, never to help us.
