This is now out in the world, and it would mean a lot if you checked it out, and if you enjoy it, maybe spread the word! Thanks for your time! :)
My new standup special Positive Reinforcement premieres TONIGHT at 8pm eastern time on Blonde Medicine’s YouTube channel. I’m really proud of this hour and grateful to all the people who helped make the special happen.

I do think sports betting should be legal, but you should have to place bets in person with someone you are afraid will physically harm you if you don't pay up.

There's a new Mountain Goats album and a feeling of hope (with caveats) in New York City, and everything is making me feel feelings, which I wrote about in this week's That's Marvelous!

Hey #Seattle! Just 3 more days until our Baristas' strike deadline. Get your alternate coffee plans ready in case those picket lines appear at the end of the week.
If baristas have to walk out, we’ll walk with them — straight past Starbucks.

Workers are fighting for fair pay, fair hours, and an end to union busting. Stand in solidarity: don't buy Starbucks if baristas go on strike! Sign the pledge: seiu.co/NoContract

It only just occurred to me that Richard Scarry doesn’t actually look like a lion wearing overalls.

I don't like what he's saying here, and I definitely don't like that he's saying it with Sex Hair for some reason.
Kaine on why he thinks just getting a vote on healthcare is a win: "We're the minority party, but everybody will get to see who is standing for them when it comes to lowering their healthcare costs"

I saw Die My Love last night, and I thought it was very good while also spending 2/3 of it going: This has to end NOW.

I had the BEST time with the Curiosity Desk team at GBH scouring the North Shore for its greatest roast beef sandwiches. I hope I did the true beefers proud!!! 🫡

The year was 2006. My friend Andrew and I had the crazy idea to do a one-day North Shore Roast Beef tour-something presumably never attempted before. Nearly 20 years later, the torch has been passed to @joshgondelman.bsky.social and @wgbh.org, and they sure did it right. Check out their video below!

One small thing that jeopardizes any claim NYC might have to the "Greatest City in the World" title is that there's both a Jets game and a Giants game on tv here every week for the entire football season.

solidarity forever with the Quirk Union; zero solidarity, respect, or understanding for management’s decision to ratfuck the entire staff (union and non!) out of their livelihoods.
A final update from Quirk Books Union ✊💔 Devastated that, in the three months since we unionized, management never met the union at the bargaining table -- and now the remaining four union members have all been laid off.

I identify less with my astrological sign than I do with the way people describe my dog. Like, I guess I'm a Capricorn but I'm for sure "treat motivated."

How long do people think a pair of socks should last? Me, I get furious if they get holes in them before I can leave them to someone in my will.

Everything else aside, Bill Gates has historically looked like a tech CEO should. Dorky sweater vests. Bad haircuts. None of this leather jacket and combat sports shit. How am I supposed to believe you're busy inventing when you're always getting fresh botox?

Marisa is doing really great work.
SNAP benefits are currently being held hostage by the Trump administration and their fate now lies with the Supreme Court.

Beneath the legal arguments are real people who simply need food—a former federal worker, a single mother of 4, a disabled man. I spoke to them. Here are their stories:
The voices of SNAP
Recipients have become political pawns. They explained, in their own words, what Trump withholding funds has been like.

The problem with scammers and loneliness these days is that everything is digital, so the scammer never gets the chance to fall in love with a plucky local librarian and change his wicked ways. And forget about the implications of not even having to buy a bunch of marching band instruments.

Why do we keep making shows about the same serial killers? Can't we just go back to making up weirdos to create dramas about? The IP of actual murders can't be THAT valuable, can it?
