Know that you're not gonna be shocked by which people get the benefit of the doubt (nary a peep even though their baby's abstinance scores are sky high) and who has their family destroyed.
We found over 70,000 cases referred to law enforcement over allegations of substance use during pregnancy — and that’s a significant undercount.

In many cases, the referrals began with false positive results from flawed drug tests — sometimes triggered by the women’s prescribed medications.

This is such a bonkers misstatement of the law by Pam Bondi’s terminally online deputy that I really hope this judge-appointed U.S. attorney challenges this.

Yes, Congress has allowed Article III judges to appoint U.S. attorneys, and yes, the Constitution explicitly contemplates this possibility.

I spent much of today briefing my fellow members of Congress both in the House and the Senate - this after assuring local leaders and the public that there was no risk to the community. El Pasoans were rightfully alarmed by how the federal government carried all of this out.

People don’t think enough about how this kind of work is why having congressional representatives that will actually work for you is important, even if you have some policy disagreements with them.
After I was informed late last night about the Temporary Flight Restriction that would close El Paso’s airspace for 10 days, my team and I worked through the night and into the morning to get to the bottom of it and then to ensure the TFR was lifted so that normal flight operations could resume.

The distinction being made between "migrant" and "taxpayer" is unsurprising, but extremely revealing.
If the PM reckons Jim Ratcliffe should apologise for spreading this exact same lie, should the Home Office apologise too, or? 🤨

Labour mayor of Greater Manchester joins those criticising Ratcliffe over his comments The GMB union has alos criticised Jim Ratcliffe over his comments about immigration. The union represents workers employed by Ineos, the chemicals company set up and run by Ratcliffe. Andy Prendergast, the GMB’s national secretary, said: Anyone who watches football knows the beautiful game is a shining example multiculturalism; people from across the world playing in harmony. In light of this, Radcliffe’s crass and insensitive comments just underline how out of touch and offensive he truly is. His reign at Man Utd has been marked by mass dismissals of loyal staff and chaos on the pitch. Frankly, his right to comment on UK affairs should have ended the moment he sloped off to Monaco to avoid paying his taxes. These comments go against everything for which Manchester has traditionally stood: a place where people of all races, faiths and none have pulled together over centuries to build our city and our institutions, including Manchester United FC. Calling for curbs on levels of immigration is one thing; portraying those who come here as a hostile invading force is quite another. Continue reading...

Newly released documents show the FBI's scramble to explain last year why it released a screen recording with a missing minute from the night Jeffrey Epstein died, instead of the original footage.
