Looking forward to the forthcoming expose on all of the nefarious goings on at her book club (imported white wine!), as well as the investigation into her fellow "biker gang" members who terrorize people walking on the unter-urban trail.

For those watching the Seattle mayoral election, which could be headed for a hand recount: In 2015, when the campaign for City Council District 1 was subject to a recount, the results didn't change by a single vote.

Hey #Seattle! Just 3 more days until our Baristas' strike deadline. Get your alternate coffee plans ready in case those picket lines appear at the end of the week.
If baristas have to walk out, we’ll walk with them — straight past Starbucks.

Workers are fighting for fair pay, fair hours, and an end to union busting. Stand in solidarity: don't buy Starbucks if baristas go on strike! Sign the pledge: seiu.co/NoContract

When Phantom Menace came out you couldn't reserve seats online yet. I had to team up w/some fellow nerds to wait in a 12-hour line 1 week before the movie opened just to buy tix. Then, another all-day line to get good seats on opening day.

George Lucas broke my heart that day.
I saw Phantom Menace in theaters the weekend it came out and that was the first time I considered a movie could truly suck

Dems are always running on Healthcare, but I'm not sure how you convince voters that you'll fight for Healthcare when you've demonstrated that you're not willing to fight for Healthcare.
Even the Dem centrists at Third Way are mad about the deal moderate Senate Dems cut with Republicans to end the shutdown:

"We should not have surrendered until we received at least something tangible on lowering health care costs."

SNAP is a political football, but making sure the USA ate used to be a national security issue: "up to a quarter of draftees called up via the Selective Service Act of 1940 were malnourished and unfit to serve"

Today, we can't even see feeding people as being in the national interest.

This is why I don't join political parties. I have absolutely zero loyalty to them. They owe ME their allegiance, not the other way around.
I couldn’t even have one full week — not one WEEK — to call myself “a proud democrat” and be serious about it. >sigh<

A 🧵 that goes way beyond what that national pundits are talking about. If I listen to a podcast and don't hear about the se down ballot wins I immediately disregard that show as being out of touch.

Seriously: We need to look beyond the NYC mayoral & NJ +VA gov races for insights.
Might you have missed some of the depth of Tuesday's results, beyond the big headline races?

I'd been watching roughly 200 races heading into Election Day, so here's a thread of some of what you don't want to skip over!
