Yes, YOU.
I'm subtweeting you.
Apropos of nothing, but over the last few months I've begun to feel less & less like a Pete Buttigieg for POTUS guy. Not sure if it's something that he's done or if I've shifted somehow... Could be that Trump's 2nd term has got me looking for fight over pragmatism. Or something like that. 🤷

Hey #Starbucks! I'm a long-time loyal customer who lives in #Seattle, and I don't cross picket lines!

I just discovered that a rival local coffee chain actually has vegan breakfast sandwiches. Yum! The money that I spent there today would've gone to you, but you won't negotiate w/your Baristas.

Trump carried MTG's House district by 37% in 2024. A primary battle between her and a Trump-endorsed candidate carries huge risks for him. If she wins it'd cement his status as a politically dead lame duck & trigger a Squid Game-like battle for dominance within the GOP.

Welcome to The Resistance... *checks notes* ...Uh, Marjorie Taylor Greene?
Trump pulls his support for Marjorie Taylor Greene, calls her “Wacky” in quotes and encourages a primary challenger.

This is cool. COURIER has created a searchable database with all 20,000 of the files just released from Epstein’s estate.

Trump's name appears in them more than anyone else, in 1,628 documents.

How cool is it to have the mayor elect of Seattle show up at a Starbucks picket line and say “I’m not shopping here until these guys get a contract”?

$220 million for a fascist ad campaign is bad enough. But it's all to line the pockets of Noem's friends and their families. The details in here are nuts.

Firm Tied to Kristi Noem Secretly Got Money From $220 Million DHS Ad Contracts
The company is run by the husband of Noem’s chief DHS spokesperson and has personal and business ties to Noem and her aides. DHS invoked the “emergency” at the border to skirt competitive bidding rule...

Ukraine has been able to consistently chip away at Russia's oil industry over the last several months. Beyond the implications for the war in Ukraine & the global oil market, what does the success of this campaign (so far) say about an organized 5th column or anti-Putin resistance within Russia?
Yesterday Ukraine blew up the Novorossiysk oil refinery, which is still burning furiously. Today Russia has been forced to suspend all exports - 2.2 million barrels a day.

That sound you now hear is the Russian economy burning.

Very excited to see @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social take office in #Seattle! Just imagine the chill that the fat cats felt hearing this line: "I want much more land & wealth to be owned and stewarded by communities instead of corporations."

She'll need the people's continued support to be successful.
My first formal remarks as mayor-elect: When I say, “This is your city,” I mean you have a right to be here, no matter your background. But I also mean that we have a collective responsibility to this place and each other.

Absolutely wild stuff. Not a great look for cops to be arresting a clergyman who's calling what's going on an act of "evil" within feet of a sign that says, "God's love knows no borders." This whole thread is damning. The police are clearly pushing their way into a crowd that's behind barricades.

Post a bird to support @sbworkersunited.org and warn your followers not to buy Starbucks for the duration of the ULP strike.

Is an attacking Canada goose some sort of apropos metaphor? Better minds than I will decide. But this feels very, very #Seattle- especially to us Green Lake denizens.

Seriously, the whole narrative that businesses & billionaires were going to start streaming out of NYC if Mamdani won was always laughable. There's ungodly amounts of money streaming into real estate & biz expansion there.

Your occasional reminder that Trump ran on lowering prices.
Deportations actually _increase_ housing prices because they shrink the construction industry.

The reduction in new houses being built swamps effects from lower demand
