Lead moveable type for printing used to be stored in large wooden drawers in cases.
Capital letters (or majuscules) were stored in the UPPER CASE.
Miniscules were stored in the LOWER CASE.

This is from a publisher's review backend, but this should be just.. you know.. generally available, for life. Just wondering where the feedback would go in that case. Somewhere between dev/null and higher deities, I suppose?

Such a shame to find "//TODO: to be implemented" about a very nice feature in my own code.

Century+ duration electronic data preservation is in fact an unsolved problem, but magnetic tapes set read-only are as close as we have right now. This is a massive, active research problem at Amazon, Google, Microsoft, others. www.microsoft.com/en-us/resear... Some tape can be replaced, not all.

Journalists should be insistently pointing out that tariffs are controlled by Congress, and they can revoke the President’s authority over them—and lots of other things!—the moment they grow a spine.
The abject gutlessness of Republican legislators is the real story here.

The Destruction of Medieval Manuscripts in England: Institutional Collections
Abstract. It is generally accepted that the contingencies of manuscript survival have disproportionately destroyed some sorts of manuscripts and not others

This just pisses me off. I know that kind of posturing, that tone. It's deeply reminiscent of some ass-clown adults from my childhood, and other ass-clown employers I've had. Trump and Vance are gonna burn bridges. They're gonna ruin our international alliances. They are repugnant people.
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?
VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media

Trump is now an aide in Russia’s regime change plan for Ukraine.
Europeans need to act NOW, not after the German elections, to make sure Ukrainians have an alternative. All the worst came true and there is no other way to put it than that the US is in Russia’s team now.
