The Nashville radar is down. But, the good people who serve you every day at the NWS finally received the 130lb palette with the part on it. Their two techs are now lugging that part to the top of the radar tower to try and get the radar operational before SVR arrives. All while not being paid.

A lot of jaw-dropping satellite loops of Melissa the past day or two, but this one might take top prize. If Dakota hadn't posted this, I might have called AI shenanigans. Surreal.
Alrighty, ready to see something really cool? (and maybe a little nauseating)

The evolution of Hurricane Melissa's mesovortices at peak strength.

I was worried for my crew mates when I saw them circling in the eye for over 20 mins. Looks like the very rough ride was confirmed. Plane had to leave early. They reported svr turb and a "sawtooth" eye. Looks like they moved 600-700ft up & down during this stretch in ~1 min.

#Melissa has struggled w/ wind shear today & the vortex remains very tilted

It's common for weak TCs like #Melissa to struggle in the Central Caribbean, an area of the Atlantic known as the Caribbean "Graveyard"

Here's a mini-🧵 on what the Caribbean "Graveyard" is & why it matters here:

Just one big propaganda machine
A terrific AFP fact check uses reverse image searches to expose how a White House video took scenes from Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska and lied that they showed "Chicago is in chaos."

🧵1/2 Was really excited to play #Borderlands 4 yesterday @borderlands.2k.com, but after around 30 minutes I had a headache and felt car sick. What the hell is up with the really zoomed in fov, motion blur and NO FOV SLIDER on console?! I actually had to stop playing.

Whoa.

That's a sprite, an elusive, high-altitude electrical discharge from a thundercloud photographed by NASA astronaut Nichole Ayers from the ISS earlier today.

With reported sightings going back more than a century, this phenomenon was first photographed in 1989.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem: “@ICEgov will continue to enforce the law. And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Which laws, the same ones applied to the individuals who assaulted the brave Capital Police officers on Jan. 6?

The simple explanation for all this insanity is that Trump and his friends are rigging the market to make themselves rich. They're putting the global economy on thin ice and tanking your 401k to do it, but someone with inside info is getting very, very rich from it.
Alright, I think people knew of the tariff pause and traded it beforehand.

You can see before Trump posted "buy" on Truth Social, traders opened $QQQ $TQQQ and $SPY calls

RIGHT BEFORE THE NEWS, someone opened $SPY 509 calls, expiring TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those calls are up 2100% in one hour.

The NWS office in Paducah, which has to handle some of the most frequent and impactful weather in America and was nearly taken out by a tornado tonight ahead of a catastrophic flood event has to use a parking lot porta potty because they can’t fix plumbing due to the govt funding freeze.
Potentially tornadic storm moving right over the Paducah KY radar and NWS office. Hoping it’s not producing. Folks, the staff there deserve all the love regardless. They have worked multiple tornado events this spring already and their office doesn’t even have functioning toilets!
