Lawyer and artist. Very square, yet my life is a surprise.
Agreed. Murder and war crimes. When Trump is out, which he will be, everyone involved needs to be prosecuted and, if the evidence supports it, convicted and locked up for a long, long time.
Former US military lawyers speak out:

"The Former JAGs Working Group unanimously considers both the giving and the execution of these orders, if true, to constitute war crimes, murder, or both."

Trump threats gains white washing in BBC broadcast.
The BBC joins a long list of media companies now obeying in advance. I can't say I'm surprised or at this point even angry. It is a structural flaw in legacy media

All I can do is promise that Democracy Docket will never bow down or bend a knee. It will remain unapologetically pro-democracy.
NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Let history repeat itself for a change.
Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Scott Bessant thinks refugees from South America are crossing the Darian Gap with their cattle.

Is he effing insane?
Last month he was a soybean farmer, this month he’s an expert on intercontinental cattle drives.

I was thinking that there's not a courtroom big enough in the US to hold all of the defendants in the future criminal case of United States vs. Donald J. Trump and others.

Then I realized we could have the trial in the White House ballroom before it gets torn down. That would be poetic justice.

This may be Trump's perfect social media post. A true work of art. He confirms:

✅He personally directs criminal investigations.
✅He is targeting opponents.
✅Epstein "records" exist and he knows the contents.

Bonus points for connecting it to investigation of his fondness for Putin.👀

BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.
NEW: At Pope Leo’s Urging, Bishops Issue Historic Rebuke of Trump’s Raids
Nearly all U.S. Catholic bishops united in Baltimore to denounce the Trump administration’s “inhumane” deportation campaign — a near-unanimous, unprecedented moral stand against a sitting president.

Our confirmed count stands at 8.1 million participants worldwide for yesterday’s No Kings protest. Thank you to everyone who helped verify the numbers through our submission website. While some MAGAs attempted to submit false or misleading data (such as reporting “one person” for major cities)

That's what is for. United we stand, divided we fall. They - Trump and his minions - try to divide us and makes feel that we each stand alone.

But we don't.

As the common protest chant says, "the People, united, can never be defeated."

The Trump fascists forgot to boil the frog *slowly* and thus are causing splintering in their ranks.

We are lucky they are all so incompetent.
This week, we’ve seen:

🚨 MTG blame Republicans for the shutdown

🚨 Rand Paul call out Trump’s reckless attacks on alleged cartel boats in Venezuela

🚨 Laura Loomer blast Hegseth’s decision to let Qatar build a training base in Idaho (this is totally insane, by the way)

The MAGA ranks are breaking.

Has lived in the US since he was NINE MONTHS OLD.
After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.

Idea for a new Rule for the House of Representatives:

Any Representative who does not hold at least one public town hall meeting or quarter loses their committee assignments.

What do you think?

I wonder: Has anyone done an economic analysis of how much of our GDP is lost just dealing with Trump?

I know his impact on my productivity is immense.

Really no different than what used to happen to Jewish homesteads during Pogroms in Russia and Ukraine or in Nazi raids in the early days of the Third Reich. Less bloody, so far, but heading that way. Naked children stripped from the arms of their mothers and thrown into U-Haul vans. Despicable.

It's on brand.
In general, if you're running for statewide office, voting is underway, and the election's in just a few weeks, this doesn't seem like the kind of headline you want to see. LOL bluevirginia.us/2025/09/2025... h/t @PollTracker2024

Same as it ever was. Trump wants to do Hitler. He demonizes and dehumanizes immigrants. He's looking for living space in Greenland. And now he wants to run the Olympics. Just like Hitler did.

There are vanishingly few places where an artists' model can work now in Saint Louis and the pay is miserly. it's bad for Art.

Recent drawing, charcoal, red chalk, compressed charcoal, on paper.

The model was extremely muscular and I had a little trouble with that. It was a good learning opportunity and my first drawing since we were hit by a tornado May 16.

Brilliant local news item from Colorado comparing Republican fake outrage with Republican real Medicaid cuts.
