It’s been a year to the day we bought (and then didn’t, for reasons we still don’t fully know) InfoWars. We’re still trying. In the year since, we built The Onion into one of the biggest newspapers in the United States. I’m so proud of this place. I’m proud we do hard stuff. Thank you for caring.

I am heartbroken and furious over the shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. Kids should be learning, laughing, making friends — not running for their lives on the very first week of school.

How many more children will live this nightmare before our elected leaders do something?

I see you. Hope you have a great day today.

not the main issue here but i'd really appreciate it if democratic politicians spoke out in support of big-city life and culture with the same energy and reverence that all politicians have for small towns

There is a clear, abundantly evident need for more eyeballs on city contracting. Kudos to the reporting team we helped uncover the latest mess.

Amid backlash, Minneapolis re-opens search for anti-sex trafficking services at safety center
An anti-sex trafficking group from Utah with reputational baggage previously said the city had chosen them to train police. Local service providers objected.

Today is Groundhog Day, and we may have six more weeks of winter ahead of us.

In the classic Bill Murray movie, local reporter Phil Connors lives the same day over and over. If you're like me, you're also fed up watching Minneapolis replay the same issues over and over again.

It goes back to the General fund.

This is an example of responsive local government: Best case scenario, we would meet an urgent need in our community.

Worst case scenario, public dollars go back to the public.

The Council led with our values when the Mayor chose not to lead at all.
I’m gonna ask this again, hopefully someone knowledgeable can answer: how much of the $1.5 million got spent? Strib story didn’t say. It would seem to matter - if nothing got spent, the money is still there for something else, or to reduce property taxes. Thanks for any firm info.

A housing first approach to our homelessness crisis means taking every possible action to preserve shelter beds.

Imagine how much more we could get done if we ended the era of division in our city and had a Mayor willing to work with the Council and the community to solve our toughest problems.

Minneapolis has a crisis that requires us to bring humanity to our housing policies. If there aren’t beds when people need them, that means we don’t have enough beds. But we can’t fix what we aren’t tracking.
