If you need something to build and use templates with, consider 11ty, but the documentation is not rly beginner-friendly. It assumes you know JS and Node and stuff 💀

HOWEVER!! "Let's Make a Website" is very artist & beginner friendly 💬👇
Consider making 2026 the Year of the Personal Website. Even a little thing on Neocities works. It’s just nice to have a home base on the internet that you don’t have to deal with bsky mods are random popping into every post and if something goes wrong with your host, you just move it elsewhere

Quit telling us how great these monoracial countries are and the benefits they provide and start explaining why white folks would rather go without because they don't like to share or care for non-white people.

Start there.

No-strings-attached, zero-means-testing, no-questions-asked cash payouts have been proven, over and over again, to be the most effective form of charity/aid going.

It gets people in housing, and it saves the state money. We know this. It's fact, not theory.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

In the future we're building online communities function as digital third places. That requires independence & autonomy (rsky + blacksky.community). Hopefully also democratic decision making (assembly.blacksky.community)

And soon: the opportunity for privacy preserving gift economies + mutual aid

Great piece of reading advice in here
One thing I've noticed - too many people don't acknowledge the need to re-read sentences trying different cadences until it clicks - they believe that reading means you just barrel through one time and if the sentence didn't make sense the first time you just process it as a "word salad."

This country does not do well with collective mourning or acknowledging death by contagious illness. You probably never heard of the pandemic of 1918, if you're under 35 you probably never seen the AIDS quilt and the fact that we've never had a national acknowledgment of the people who died of COVID

We're close to the world's first-ever broad-spectrum antiviral. In a breakthrough, researchers at the City University of New York have identified a promising path to the development of an antiviral that could be used to fight a wide range of deadly viruses, including future pandemic threats.

Whenever younger (adult) White folks tell me that they don't think racism is all that serious anymore, I suggest a little exercise for them: Walk into an adult video store and look for Black porn stars. Are they in an ethnic section? Who's not? So when it serves your purposes, race is very real.

they think that people don't pay attention and they are correct. So they will *give* you back $2000 with his name on the check to distract you from the fact that you paid an extra $6000. So you are actually $4000 in the hole. A lot of people will think they are ahead.
The $2000 rebate checks “are a budgetary shell game. Tariffs have already cost American families nearly that much — an average of $1,800 .. Don’t look for logic here. There is none.”

And, also, if you run a business that regularly purchases shipping supplies: ULINE is run by some of the worst people on Earth. Get your boxes and tape elsewhere.
Remember: don't eat the mid tier fast food chicken, don't play the wizard game, don't shop at the hobby store run by the bad guys from Indiana Jones, and don't donate to the bigot bucket.
I know it's a tad early but I know those bitches with the buckets will be out soon. Don't gove them a penny. The volunteers may not know but the salvation army is no ally and actively combative and harmful to many queer minorities especially during the holiday season

you can literally just wake up & decide "i'm done being who i've been." you don't need a new year, you don't need a rock bottom. you don't need anyone's permission. change doesn't require the perfect moment. you're not stuck, you're always one decision away from a different life
